[The Chosun Ilbo] GOLFZON LEADBETTER ACADEMY Nurtures Top Golf Talent Competing on Global Tours

South Korean daily newspaper CHOSUN ILBO highlighted the achievements of golfers trained at GOLFZON LEADBETTER ACADEMY (GLA), operated by GOLFZON, as they continue to make their mark on domestic and international professional golf tours. The report noted that GLA has developed a systematic player development program that supports promising junior golfers through their progression to the professional ranks. Through structured training and professional coaching, GLA has helped nurture leading Korean golfers competing on the KPGA, KLPGA, and LPGA Tours.

The newspaper highlighted several notable GLA alumni, including Shin Sang-hun, Jang Yu-bin, Kim Han-byul, and Bae Yong-jun, who have recorded victories on the KPGA Tour. Shin, who began training at GLA during high school, captured the 2026 GOLFZON OPEN title in September after a playoff, while Jang won a gold medal in the men’s team event at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games and has continued to secure victories on the KPGA Tour. Kim, who joined GLA in 2016, claimed two KPGA Tour titles in 2020, while Bae has also established himself as a two-time KPGA Tour winner. The article also featured the achievements of leading female golfers, including Sung Yu-jin, Hur Mi-jung, Choi Hye-jin, and Hwang Yu-min, highlighting their success across the KLPGA and LPGA Tours, including Hwang’s victory at the 2025 LPGA LOTTE Championship.

CHOSUN ILBO also drew attention to GLA’s comprehensive player development system, which provides tailored training for junior, amateur, and professional golfers at different stages of their careers. Led by Head Coach Sung Si-woo and First-Division Tour Team Director Kim Hong-sik, GLA integrates swing instruction, short-game training, physical conditioning, and course management into its coaching programs. The academy also utilizes GOLFZON’s golf simulation technology, shot analysis systems, and putting analysis tools to support player development and improve competitive performance. This technology-supported approach allows GLA to provide training tailored to each golfer’s individual characteristics and development stage.

A GLA representative emphasized that the academy takes a long-term approach to developing golfers, helping young players build their potential and compete beyond Korea’s professional tours on the international stage. The representative added that GLA remains committed to supporting the development of leading Korean golfers through systematic training and expert coaching. As GLA alumni and GOLFZON-supported golfers continue to achieve success on domestic and international tours, the article underscored the role of GOLFZON LEADBETTER ACADEMY in nurturing competitive golf talent.
