Korean Qualifying Results Announced for the “2026 GOLFZON CHINA OPEN”… Kim Hong-taek, Ji Han-sol, Lee Seong-hun and Hong Hyun-ji Advance to the Finals

• Korean professional and amateur golfers competed at GOLFZON CITYGOLF China No. 2 in Yanji from July through August
• Golfers from five regions—Korea, China, other parts of Asia excluding Korea and China, the Americas, and Europe—participated, with the 20 Korean finalists now confirmed
• Finals to be held December 17–20 at GOLFZON CITYGOLF China No. 3 in Chengdu… Total prize pool of KRW 4.25 billion, including KRW 1.05 billion for the winner

GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Kang-su) announced on August 28 that it has concluded the Korean qualifying rounds for the “2026 GOLFZON CHINA OPEN” and finalized the list of Korean players who will advance to the finals this December.

The “2026 GOLFZON CHINA OPEN” is a global golf tournament featuring a total prize pool of approximately KRW 4.25 billion and a winner’s prize of approximately KRW 1.05 billion. The tournament brings together professional and amateur golfers from around the world, with participants representing Korea, China, other parts of Asia excluding Korea and China, the Americas, and Europe.

The Korean preliminary qualifiers, held for approximately three months from March 10 to May 31, attracted about 20,000 golfers, including 4,461 players in the Pro Division and 15,523 in the Open Division. Participants played more than 40,000 rounds in total. Of those who met the qualification criteria based on their preliminary-round scores, approximately 200 professional and amateur golfers advanced to the Korean main qualifying round, which was held in two stages in July and August at GOLFZON CITYGOLF China No. 2 in Yanji.

The Korean main qualifying round selected a total of 20 finalists—15 from the Pro Division and five from the Open Division—and was divided into Pro Division A, Pro Division B, and the Open Division.

Pro Division A was held from July 20 to 24 at GOLFZON CITYGOLF China No. 2 in Yanji, featuring players with previous KPGA or KLPGA Tour victories, as well as players ranked within the top 30 on the 2025 season’s first-tier tour money rankings. The top five players—Kim Hong-taek, Lee Tae-hee, Ji Han-sol, Kim Han-byul, and Jeon Jae-han—secured their places in the finals.

Pro Division B was held in two stages, from July 21 to 26 and from August 21 to 27, while the Open Division was held at the same venue from August 21 to 27. Competition was particularly intense in Pro Division B. GTOUR standout Lee Seong-hun secured a place in the finals after tying for first with Yeom Don-woong and Seo Ha-bin, while WGTOUR standout Hong Hyun-ji finished fourth. A total of 10 players, including Kang Seung-hyun, Lee Jin-kyung, Shim Hyun-woo, Kim Min-soo, Lee Jeong-woong, and Park Dan-yu, advanced to the finals.

In the Open Division, five players—Won Seong-jun, who finished first, along with Park Min-ha, Jeong Cheong, Kim Seong-su, and Park Se-jung—earned spots in the finals.

In the China qualifiers, Zhao Zixu, the 2025 GOLFZON CHINA OPEN champion, and Wang Zixuan, who also competes on the KLPGA Tour, have delivered strong performances. The remaining finalists will be determined through the qualifying competition, which runs through August 31.

In Japan, which is part of the Asia region excluding Korea and China, veteran golfer Sakura Yokomine, a 23-time JLPGA Tour winner, and golf YouTuber Terra-Yuga, who has more than 1 million subscribers, will advance to the finals.

In the Americas, the winner of Season 3 of the GOLFZON TOUR, organized by GOLFZON America, will earn a spot in the finals, while the European region is currently in the process of selecting its finalists.

The finals, which will determine the overall champion, will be held over four days from December 17 to 20 at GOLFZON CITYGOLF China No. 3 in Chengdu, with a total of 170 players competing.

Meanwhile, CITYGOLF, the venue for the tournament, is an urban golf platform first introduced by GOLFZON in China in 2024. CITYGOLF currently operates its first location in Tianjin and its second in Yanji, while preparations are underway to open a third location in Chengdu.

GOLFZON America, GOLFZON’s North American subsidiary, is also preparing to open the first CITYGOLF USA flagship location in Nashville, Tennessee. The facility will be the first indoor 18-hole golf course of its kind in the United States, marking CITYGOLF’s entry into the U.S. market.
