GOLFZON Co., Ltd. announced on October 6 that Hong Hyun-ji captured her 15th career title at the 6th 2026 S-OIL SEVEN GTOUR MIXED, held on Monday, October 5, at GOLFZON Joymaru in Daejeon. Hong finished with a final total of 17-under-par and prevailed in a hard-fought playoff against Kim Hong-taek and Lee Yong-hee 1.
Marking the start of the autumn season, the GTOUR MIXED tournament brought together 88 all-star professionals with top results this season. The competition drew attention for its heightened level of intensity, with changes to the playing environment such as faster green speeds and newly introduced rough and bunker mats.
The 6th tournament offered a total prize purse of KRW 80 million, including KRW 17 million for the winner. The event was hosted by GOLFZON, with S-OIL TotalEnergies Lubricants Co., Ltd. serving as the main sponsor. Saintnine, MyAiming, Selpinda and Volvik Apparel participated as sub-sponsors, while Golden Blue joined as the Tour Points sponsor.
The tournament was played on GOLFZON’s latest simulator, TWOVISION NX Plus, in Tour Mode with a green speed setting of 3.4 meters. The one-day event was conducted as a 36-hole stroke play competition over two rounds without a cut. Except for the tee box settings, which varied by hole for male and female players, the competition environment was identical to that of GTOUR and WGTOUR events. The official balls for the MIXED tournament were Saintnine N BLACK, a three-piece ball, and Saintnine N GOLD, a four-piece ball.
The tournament course, revealed on the day of the event, was Arnold Palmer Bay Hill GC in Orlando, Florida. With narrow fairways, numerous bunkers around the greens and penalty areas positioned close to the putting surfaces, the key to the competition was how players used precise iron shots and course management strategies to attack the greens.
Hong, who began the final round as the sole leader at 10-under-par, was unable to reduce her score in the early stages but defended her position with steady par saves. She then made a birdie on the sixth hole to remain in the tight battle for the lead. With her characteristic confidence and fast-paced style of play, Hong continued to compete closely with the players chasing her. After a tense battle that lasted until the final hole, she entered a sudden-death playoff tied at 17-under-par with Kim Hong-taek and Lee Yong-hee 1. The playoff extended to four holes, where Hong made the first birdie to secure her 15th career victory.
Lee Yong-hee 1, who had shown strong play in the first round, began the final round with a bogey but quickly regained momentum by converting an eagle opportunity on the fourth hole. He followed with a birdie on the fifth hole to move into a tie for the lead with Hong. Lee continued to deliver impressive play through the final playoff, competing alongside GTOUR and WGTOUR standouts Kim Hong-taek and Hong Hyun-ji, and finished as runner-up after providing an exciting performance for the gallery.
Kim Hong-taek, who entered the event after finishing runner-up on the KPGA Korean Tour the previous weekend, stayed near the top of the leaderboard after a chip-in eagle on the sixth hole. He added further tension to the competition with an eagle on the 16th hole following an outstanding tee shot. Despite a bunker mistake on the 18th hole, Kim recovered with a birdie to join Hong and Lee in the playoff, ultimately finishing tied for second.
Lee Jin-kyung, a multiple winner this season with victories in the 3rd tournament and the 6th major of the 2026 season, also displayed sharp iron play and finished in fourth place. Kim Min-soo, who showed his strength by carding a 12-under-par final round, finished tied for fifth with Park Rae-sung, Sun Ji-ho and Yoon Jae-in. Park, in particular, drew cheers from the gallery with a powerful tee shot that traveled 317 meters on the sixth hole.
GOLFZON Joymaru was filled with spectators for the tournament, which featured challenging greens and a strong field of male and female professionals. Reflecting the excitement surrounding the event, the final round also drew more than 15,000 viewers on GOLFZON’s YouTube channel, bringing the tournament to a successful close.
During the awards ceremony held after the tournament, the winner was presented with the prize money, championship trophy, winner’s jacket and bouquet. Hong said, “I had been competing until yesterday, so I was physically tired, but I am very happy to have won. I would like to sincerely thank the sponsors, as well as GOLFZON and S-OIL for hosting this tournament.”
She added, “My score did not improve early in the final round, so I tried to clear my mind and focus on my play. I think that helped lead to a good result. I will continue to do my best to show strong performances going forward.”
The Saintnine Eagle Award, presented to the player with the most eagles in the tournament, went to Kim Hong-taek, who recorded two eagles.
Meanwhile, GTOUR, WGTOUR and MIXED, Korea’s leading screen golf tours, are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year. Information on the tours’ history, tournaments, player records and past highlights is available on the official website. The tournament was broadcast live on the day of the event through the GOLFZON YouTube channel, Naver and Daum Sports, ScreenGolfzon TV and SBS Golf2.
