GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Kang-soo) announced on August 10 that Lee Jin-kyung captured her third win of the season at the final round of the 6th Major Tournament of the “2026 LOTTE Rent-a-Car WGTOUR,” held on Sunday, August 9, at GOLFZON ZOIMARU in Daejeon. Lee carded 9-under par in the first round and 8-under par in the second round to finish at 17-under par overall, securing her fifth career WGTOUR victory.
The total prize purse for the 6th Major Tournament of the “2026 LOTTE Rent-a-Car WGTOUR” was KRW 120 million. LOTTE Rent-a-Car, which has maintained a long-standing partnership with GOLFZON in support of Korea’s screen golf tour, served as the title sponsor. Challenger Golfwear, Srixon, CaddyTalk, Vienna Coffee House, and 1879 participated as sub-sponsors, while liquor company Golden Blue joined as the Grand Prize Points sponsor. As a special benefit for winning the major tournament, Lee received a three-year WGTOUR seed, including the current season, along with a voucher for LOTTE Rent-a-Car vehicle use and maintenance services.
The tournament was played in Tour Mode on the TwoVision NX Plus simulator in a one-day, 36-hole stroke-play format over two rounds. GOLFZON’s newly launched TwoVision NX Plus features an AI spin sensor that replicates spin and ball-flight patterns more closely to those experienced on an actual course, enhancing overall immersion. With even more realistic course graphics, the system delivered a detailed round environment, from shot results and ball trajectories to course surroundings, allowing spectators to experience the upgraded appeal of the Screen Golf Tour.
The tournament was held on Lotte Skyhill Buyeo CC (SKY/HILL), which is rated three stars for course difficulty and four stars for green difficulty on the GOLFZON scale, making it a fittingly challenging venue for a major event. With significant variation in yardage from hole to hole, strategic course management proved crucial, while the demanding greens required players to carefully judge pin positions and identify the best putting lines in order to score well. A total of 80 players, including seeded players, qualifiers, and rookies, competed in the first round, and 60 advanced through the cut to battle for the title of Major Queen in the final round.
Lee Jin-kyung, who ultimately claimed the Major Queen title, got off to a slow start in the opening round but caught fire on the back nine to move into a tie for the lead heading into the final round. Once she found her rhythm, she maintained her momentum with composed play and precise shot-making. In the final round, Lee recorded eight birdies without a single bogey to finish at 17-under par, securing her third win of the season and the fifth WGTOUR title of her career. By claiming multiple victories this season, including titles at both the third and sixth major tournaments, she further solidified her status as one of the tour’s most dominant players.
This major tournament featured a crowded leaderboard from the early stages of the final round, and the contest between established WGTOUR stars and rising players became one of the event’s biggest highlights. Kim A-ro-mi, who began the final round tied for the lead, made a strong impression on the gallery with an outstanding performance despite competing in only her third WGTOUR event. Although she dropped a stroke with a bogey on the final hole, she still finished a solid fifth.
Kim Young-yun II also delivered a strong performance, showcasing excellent distance control, a sharp putting touch, and a composed style of play that suggests more strong results to come. She finished tied for second alongside Choi Sa-rang II, whose aggressive and confident play stood out throughout the event, and Han Ji-min, who once again demonstrated why she remains one of the WGTOUR’s top contenders.
The GOLFZON Screen Golf Tour is open to the public free of charge, and GOLFZON ZOIMARU, which hosted a variety of spectator events, was filled with fans eager to watch the thrilling WGTOUR action in person. Given the intensity of this major tournament, the prediction event, in which participants had to correctly pick the top six finishers, also drew strong interest. With more than 11,000 viewers tuning in to the live YouTube broadcast, the growing popularity of the WGTOUR was once again on full display.
At the awards ceremony following the tournament, Lee received KRW 25 million in prize money, 3,000 Grand Prize points, and the WGTOUR’s iconic red jacket. As additional major-winner benefits, she was also granted a three-year WGTOUR seed, including the current season, as well as a LOTTE Rent-a-Car vehicle and maintenance service voucher.
Winner Lee Jin-kyung said, “I sincerely thank our sponsors for their unwavering trust and support.” She added, “I believe the key to my success has been the amount of practice I put in, and that dedication seems to be paying off this season. I will continue to give my all with the goal of winning the remaining tournaments.”
In addition, the “1879 Long Drive Award,” presented once each season to the player who records the longest drive on the designated Longest Hole, went to Park Jeong-won, who posted a drive of 240.5 meters.
Meanwhile, information on the history of the GOLFZON GTOUR and WGTOUR, Korea’s leading screen golf tours now celebrating their 15th anniversary, as well as tournament details, player records, and highlights from previous events, is available on the official website.
