The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON Newdin Group Chairman Kim Young-chan and his wife delivered 70,000 coal briquettes to a coal briquette bank in the Daejeon area using 52 million won that they had raised over the course of the year by linking their golf performance to donations. Under the scheme, a set amount was accumulated each time they recorded a birdie, eagle, or hole-in-one. According to the report, Chairman Kim recorded 90 birdies and one hole-in-one over 77 rounds, while his wife recorded 58 birdies, three eagles, and one hole-in-one over 49 rounds. It added that the donated briquettes will be delivered to some 300 households to help underprivileged people get through the winter.

The Korea Economic Daily reported that Chairman Kim said, “Linking golf performance with donations made me concentrate even more on every single shot,” and expressed his intention to continue this kind of charitable activity every year.

The Korea Economic Daily reported that Chairman Kim and his wife are practicing corporate social responsibility by consistently sharing their warmth with the Daejeon community, where GOLFZON was founded and grew.
