The Yuwon Golf Foundation (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 12th that it had awarded a total of KRW 95 million in ‘Junior Golf Scholarships’ to 52 promising young golfers.

The Yuwon Golf Foundation’s Junior Golf Scholarship program is a scholarship initiative that supports talented young golfers by creating an environment in which they can devote themselves to training and fully realize their potential. This year, a total of 52 junior golfers were selected as scholarship recipients from North Jeolla Province and Jeju, including 14 elementary-school students, 18 middle-school students, and 20 high-school students.

The Yuwon Golf Foundation selected the scholarship recipients fairly and transparently, comprehensively reflecting their results in regional student golf championships. In particular, taking into account the growing youth golf population in the Jeju region, the foundation increased the number of recipients compared with the previous year, actively supporting the cultivation of local sports talent.

Kim Young-chan, Chairman of the Yuwon Golf Foundation, said, “We continue to provide ongoing support so that promising young golfers can focus on realizing their dreams in an environment where they can fully immerse themselves in their practice,” adding, “Going forward, the Yuwon Golf Foundation will do its utmost to discover and nurture golf talent and will support these young players in growing into world-class golfers.”

Over the past 15 years, the Yuwon Golf Foundation has steadily advanced its Junior Golf Scholarship program, achieving meaningful results as scholarship recipients have grown into players demonstrating outstanding skills both at home and abroad. Bae Yong-jun (25, CJ), a 2018 scholarship recipient, won the 2025 KPGA Classic, while Jang Yu-bin (23, Ironhead GC) claimed six titles, including the grand prize, at the 2024 KPGA Genesis Grand Prize awards ceremony. Yang Hyo-jin (18, Daebo Construction), a scholarship recipient last year, has been making her mark by winning the 2025 Australian Amateur Masters, among other achievements.

Meanwhile, the Yuwon Golf Foundation operates a variety of programs to discover promising young golfers and advance the golf industry. In addition to the Junior Golf Scholarships, it has carried out initiatives such as △support for international competitions △selection of high-achieving youth scholarship recipients △publication of the Korea Golf Industry White Paper. Late last year, a stream of donations from renowned professional golfers also continued to flow into the Yuwon Golf Foundation. The foundation’s fair and systematic selection and support of talent has established a virtuous cycle of giving.

Going forward, the Yuwon Golf Foundation plans to continue its support for the development of the golf industry and contribute to elevating the standing of Korean golf.
