Media Coverage Korea

The Korea Herald reported that Ybrain, a Seoul-based medical technology startup, is developing technology that treats and prevents dementia and mental disorders through a wearable device without the use of drugs. According to the article, its flagship product, the ‘Yband,’ works by sending weak electrical signals to the brain to stimulate frontal lobe activity, and clinical trials showed that just 20 to 30 minutes of use improved cognitive ability by 10 to 12 percent.

The report stated that the company is currently conducting clinical trials in partnership with 16 domestic hospitals, targeting conditions such as depression, trauma, schizophrenia, and early-stage Alzheimer’s, with the goal of launching a depression treatment device and obtaining approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety next year. Meanwhile, the article noted that GOLFZON Yuwon Holdings made a strategic investment in Ybrain, which is interpreted as reflecting GOLFZON’s intention to expand its business into the VR field based on its golf simulator technology. In the long term, the report said, the goal is to build a device portfolio across two tracks: medical use and lifestyle use.
