[The Korea Economic Daily] “GOLFZON Season 2 Is a ‘Platform’…Connecting Golfers Worldwide Through an App”
The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON CEO Park Kang-soo presented a vision of transforming the company into a platform business as part of “GOLFZON Season 2,” stating that “our new goal is to make the GOLFZON platform a place where every golfer in the world connects.” According to the report, GOLFZON plans to deliver all golf-related services—including course reservations, navigation, equipment shopping, easy payment, and healthcare—through a single app, building on a base of 3.3 million members and a screen golf system that hosts 120,000 rounds per day. It added that 40% of the company’s headquarters staff are developers and that GOLFZON invests 4–5% of its annual revenue in research and development.
The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON is already applying AI technology to its services. The company is operating personalized course recommendations based on user data, course-specific strategy guides, and swing diagnosis services, and it is also preparing to launch “GDR AI Learning,” which recommends lesson coaches and videos based on golfer data, the report said.
The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON, having entered some 60 countries worldwide under its “glocalization” strategy, plans to open 50 additional stores in China alone this year, and that the company intends to actively promote the popularization of golf locally based on its partnership with the China Golf Association.
