Maeil Business Newspaper reported that GOLFZON’s decade-long system for nurturing promising players is now bearing fruit. The article noted that over the single month of August, Kim Han-byul and Kim Seong-hyun won consecutive titles on the KPGA Korean Tour, while Choi Young-jun won the Maekyung·Solago Cup, a major amateur tournament—meaning three GOLFZON-sponsored players reached the top of both the professional and amateur stages at the same time, drawing considerable attention.

The paper reported that GOLFZON has continued to nurture promising players since launching the Yuwon Golf Foundation’s Daejeon Young Talent Scholarship program in 2011, and that since 2017 it has signed ongoing sponsorship contracts with players who have turned professional after their amateur careers. The GOLFZON Leadbetter Academy (GLA) provides a scientific, systematic training environment to more than 60 players each year, and it was reported that Bae Yong-jun, a three-time amateur major champion, and Cho A-yeon of the KLPGA Tour are also GLA alumni.

CEO Choi Deok-hyung stated that GLA-trained players have begun reaping rewards in earnest, claiming two victories on this year’s KPGA Tour, while Kim Young-chan, chairman of the Yuwon Golf Foundation, was reported as saying the foundation plans to continue expanding its support programs, including the selection of golf scholarship recipients from low-income households.
