JoongAng Ilbo reported that GOLFZON held a commemorative event at its GOLFZON PARK Grand Plaza store in Hanoi to mark its first anniversary of entering the Vietnamese market. The event was attended by the Minister of Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Park Chung-gun, head coach of Vietnam’s national shooting team, and Kim Ju-hyun, Executive Director of GOLFZON’s Global Business Division, among others. The newspaper noted that GOLFZON has opened six stores in just over a year since launching its first location in June last year. With the market showing clear growth—Vietnam’s golf population surged sevenfold from just 10,000 in 2009 to 70,000 last year—the company added that it plans to open six additional stores within this year, bringing the total to 12 stores.
JoongAng Ilbo reported that GOLFZON is implementing a localization strategy by continuously adding local Vietnamese courses, and plans to further expand into outdoor driving range and golf course businesses going forward.
JoongAng Ilbo reported that GOLFZON, drawing on its experience leading the popularization of golf in Korea, has expressed its ambition to become a driving force in the development of Vietnam’s golf industry and is making a full-scale push into the Southeast Asian market.
