The Yuseong-gu Kimchi-Making Sharing event is a social contribution activity in which participants make and deliver kimchi directly to underprivileged members of the local community. It was co-hosted by the Yuseong-gu Happiness Network, the Yuseong-gu Community Social Welfare Council, and the Yuseong-gu Happiness Nuri Foundation. GOLFZON Newdin Group has participated in the Kimchi-Making Sharing volunteer drive for the 12th time since 2010, supporting a healthy winter for vulnerable members of the local community.
This year’s event drew a total of about 320 executives and employees from 32 companies and organizations in the Daejeon region. GOLFZON Newdin Group donated 5 million won, and about 40 executives and employees from group companies based in the Daejeon region—△GOLFZON △GOLFZON County △GOLFZON Joymaru—took part as volunteers, delivering about 900 kg (about 260 heads) of kimchi to underprivileged residents and social welfare facilities within Yuseong-gu.
Seong Si-woo, head coach of the GOLFZON Leadbetter Academy who participated in the volunteer drive, said, “I joined this volunteer drive in the hope that our neighbors in Yuseong-gu would prepare for the coming winter cold and have a healthy winter,” adding, “Going forward, we will do our best to continue paying attention to and practicing in various ways the sharing of warmth with our neglected neighbors.”
Meanwhile, GOLFZON Newdin Group is carrying out a wide range of activities across golf, IT, culture, and sharing through ‘Swing Your Dream,’ a social contribution brand that embodies the message ‘We support your dream.’ It strives to fulfill its corporate social responsibility through sharing activities such as sponsoring golfers, providing IT education for rural and mountainous regions and the digitally underprivileged, creating culture and arts jobs for people with disabilities such as the GOLFZON Pastel Choir and baristas, and company-wide volunteering and donations. As part of these efforts, it has to date donated 1.5 billion won in neighbor-love funds to the Fruit of Love Daejeon Community Chest, and in 2021 it became the first company in the Daejeon region to join as a Gold member of the Honorary Society of Sharing.
