China’s 15th Five-Year Plan for Building a Sports Powerhouse calls for improvements to the public service system for national fitness, the expansion of small-scale sports spaces within local communities, and a broader shift from simply increasing the supply of sports facilities toward improving utilization and service quality.

Against this backdrop, China’s national fitness sector is also moving beyond the expansion of physical infrastructure toward creating more accessible, convenient and sustainable community-based sports environments that reflect the everyday needs of residents.

GOLFZON China’s GOLFZON Community Clubhouse concept is designed in line with this trend, offering community-based digital golf spaces built around simulator golf that residents can access closer to where they live.

From Expanding Facilities to Improving Everyday Access

As public sports services continue to evolve, greater attention is being placed not only on expanding the number of facilities but also on how effectively they are used and how easily residents can access them in their daily lives.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, this shift is also reflected in the development of the “15-minute fitness circle,” which places greater emphasis on factors such as walking accessibility, suitable operating hours and the relevance of programs for different user groups, rather than relying solely on measures such as sports facility space per capita.

GOLFZON Community Clubhouse is designed around this changing approach. By making use of underutilized spaces within residential communities and neighborhood commercial areas, the model can be developed on a relatively small scale.

A simulator golf environment can be created within approximately 50 to 100 square meters using GOLFZON simulators, helping reduce the scale of initial investment and construction requirements while improving the efficiency of limited spaces. The model is intended to bring golf closer to residents’ everyday living areas rather than requiring access to large, dedicated golf facilities.

Making Simulator Golf More Accessible Across Age Groups

Unlike outdoor golf, which can be affected by season, weather and travel distance, GOLFZON Community Clubhouse operates in an indoor environment, allowing users to enjoy golf with fewer time and environmental constraints.

From younger users and working professionals to middle-aged and older adults, people can access simulator golf in ways that fit their daily schedules. The space can support a wide range of uses, including introductory golf programs for children, leisure and fitness activities for younger and middle-aged adults, and health-oriented activities for older users.

Another key feature is its potential to lower the barrier to golf participation and make the sport more accessible to a broader range of age groups. Community tournaments and family participation programs can also be organized, helping expand golf from a sport traditionally associated with a limited audience into an everyday fitness and leisure activity within local communities.

Smart operating systems can further improve management efficiency, while online reservation functions provide users with more convenient access. By making continued use of existing underutilized spaces, the model also offers a new approach to operating small-scale community sports facilities.

A New Community-Based Digital Golf Model

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China is continuing to promote the growth of its sports industry and improvements in the quality of national fitness services. In this process, new business models, service formats and participation by a wider range of market players are expected to play an increasingly important role.

GOLFZON Community Clubhouse is designed to serve as more than a place for exercise. It aims to function as a multifunctional community sports space that combines simulator golf, physical activity, interaction among local residents and broader community engagement.

By using digital golf as a platform, the concept is intended to create more opportunities for physical activity in everyday life while also providing spaces where residents can connect and participate in a variety of leisure and community activities.

The GOLFZON Community Clubhouse model has also attracted interest from companies in the real estate and property management sectors, as well as investors and young entrepreneurs.

Bringing Golf Closer to Everyday Life

Moving beyond the simple expansion of facilities and improving how they are used and experienced is becoming an increasingly important direction for national fitness services in China.

Going forward, GOLFZON China plans to continue expanding small-scale digital sports spaces within local communities and further develop services aligned with the “15-minute fitness circle.” This includes conveniently located facilities, programs accessible to a broad range of age groups, and sustainable operating and tournament models.

Through these efforts, GOLFZON China aims to make simulator golf and digital golf more accessible as part of everyday fitness and leisure activities while contributing to the continued development of China’s national fitness and sports industry.
