GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Park Kang-soo and Choi Deok-hyung) announced on the 30th that, for full-scale global business expansion, it is selling its in-house developed golf launch monitor ‘WAVE’ in the European and Australian markets. It began sales in the European market this past September, and plans to expand and begin sales in Australia this coming November.

Completed on the strength of the technology of GOLFZON, Korea’s largest golf IT company, ‘WAVE’ is a golf launch monitor product that lets golfers easily check their own shot data anytime, anywhere. As the radar sensor line first introduced by GOLFZON, unlike existing simulators that use ultra-high-speed camera sensors optimized for indoor use, it is not affected by lighting or club color, giving it the advantage of high usability outdoors and in natural light.

‘WAVE’ supports 18-hole golf course play and driving range modes, and provides a total of 34 data sets, including 26 ball and club data sets and 8 data sets for putting. Through the ‘WAVE Skills’ app, users can view all 34 data sets and, based on these, analyze each golfer’s individual swing and use coaching services. Its key strength is that it is the only product in the launch monitor market to include an infrared putting mat, delivering more accurate putting data and enabling precise putting practice. It supports Android, Apple operating systems (iOS), and Windows, helping users check and practice their golf shots on various devices such as PCs and smartwatches. After purchasing the WAVE product, users can also experience more than 100 famous golf courses worldwide through a separate additional subscription.

Official sales began in the U.S. in June of this year, and as a portable simulator product, it is drawing interest from consumers in the American market, where many people have personal spaces such as basements, garages, and gardens. In particular, at the ‘2023 PGA Merchandise Show’ held in Las Vegas, U.S., this past January, it raised expectations and received favorable reviews as a product combining a portable radar sensor product with an infrared putting mat.

GOLFZON CEO Choi Deok-hyung said, “Following the spread of screen golf culture at home and abroad, GOLFZON has developed and sells a portable golf simulator for overseas golfers, and plans to spread GOLFZON’s technology in the man-cave market, where people pursue their own lifestyles,” adding, “We plan to continue diversifying our overseas sales network so that golf can be easily enjoyed anywhere in the world, becoming a company that is familiar and approachable to golfers.”

Meanwhile, GOLFZON is leading the spread of screen golf culture at home and abroad, including by signing partnerships with overseas local companies through its glocalization strategy. Currently, there are about 1,090 GOLFZON screen golf operating stores overseas, and based on more than 20 years of technology and know-how, the company offers a variety of golf simulator products. In addition to the golf launch monitor ‘WAVE’, it sells ‘WAVE PLAY’ and ‘SWING PLAY’, home golf simulators launched in Korea as Vision Home, in Japan and China.
