20 years dedicated to research and development of golf rangefinders, GOLFZON Deca (CEO Joo-myung Jung), a global specialist in golf distance measuring devices, announced on the 8th of this month that GolfBuddy’s smartwatch golf app ‘Smart Caddie’ has been named one of Google Play’s ‘Best Watch Apps of 2023.’

Every year-end, Google Play announces the most notable apps and games of the year from countries around the world, and the selected winners serve as a meaningful indicator reflecting the app market trends of the past year.

As of November 2023, the smartwatch golf app ‘Smart Caddie’ has surpassed 1.6 million members and 2.1 million cumulative downloads, leading the golf app market. In particular, Smart Caddie—which comes pre-installed on the ‘Galaxy Watch6 Classic Golf Edition’ released this year as the seventh collaboration between GOLFZON Deca and Samsung Electronics—has unveiled even more powerful performance through a major upgrade of its new features.

Based on data from more than 40,000 golf courses worldwide, the Smart Caddie app provides precise distance information and green maps that reflect the elevation changes and green undulation (height variations) of domestic golf courses. Using GPS, it automatically recognizes the golfer’s position on the course, making it easier and faster to find golf clubs and courses. With a course strategy guide that includes club-by-club distance guidance, touch IP, and shot location confirmation, golfers can enjoy a strategic round. In addition, it includes a variety of useful features that golfers can utilize on the course, such as the Auto Shot Tracking feature that automatically records scores on each hole and AI voice guidance for course information.
