Golf Business News reported that GOLFZON successfully concluded its on-site engagement during the 145th Open Championship, showcasing its state-of-the-art golf simulators to approximately 8,500 people in Troon, Scotland. The article noted that GOLFZON installed two simulators in the HSBC GOLFZON Spectator Village at Royal Troon Golf Club, located near the 16th and 17th holes, where around 6,400 people tried them out in person.

One simulator hosted a 50-yard nearest-to-the-pin challenge set against the backdrop of the 1st hole of the Old Course at St Andrews, producing nine hole-in-ones over the course of the tournament. On the other simulator, a longest-drive challenge was held on the 17th Road Hole at St Andrews, with prizes awarded for drives exceeding 300 yards, the article stated.

One additional simulator was installed at the GolfPunk Caddyshack in Troon Town Hall, where approximately 2,000 more people had a go. Former European Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance took part in the facility’s opening event, and tournament competitors including Thomas Pieters and Nicolas Colsaerts also tried the GOLFZON simulators for themselves, the report said.

GOLFZON Senior Vice President Tommy Lim said, “We are delighted to have been able to introduce GOLFZON’s leading technology at The Open over the years, and we will actively participate in various tournaments and events around the world to expand global brand recognition and market share,” according to the article. The report added that GOLFZON entered the U.S. market through the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando in early 2016, and plans to take part in the 2016 Asia Pacific Golf Summit to be held in Hua Hin, Thailand, in October of the same year.
