[Forbes] CITYGOLF USA Partners With Golf Course Architect Tom Fazio

Forbes reported that CITYGOLF USA has partnered with renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio to design golf courses for CITYGOLF locations across the United States.

Fazio is a renowned golf course architect with nine original course designs included in Golf Digest’s ranking of the Top 100 U.S. courses. His notable designs include Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, Congaree in South Carolina, Gozzer Ranch in Idaho, Victoria National in Indiana, the Estancia Club in Arizona, and Diamond Creek in North Carolina.

Fazio Design Technologies (FDT) will design courses specifically for CITYGOLF locations, including the first CITYGOLF USA venue scheduled to debut in Nashville in late 2026. The courses will include both simulated holes and physical greens. The Nashville flagship venue will span approximately 174,000 square feet, equivalent to about three football fields.

Forbes reported that the partnership with the Fazio brand adds cache and legitimacy to the CITYGOLF USA concept, with an effort to integrate real-world course strategy with both digital and live shot making.

CITYGOLF USA is an 18-hole indoor golf course concept that combines GOLFZON simulator technology with physical greens. Players move through 18 individual hitting bays, taking tee shots and other shots on GOLFZON simulator screens. When they reach the green, the screen lifts, allowing them to walk through and complete the hole on a physical green complex.

The Fazio-designed greens at CITYGOLF USA locations will feature crushed rock and padding beneath undulating synthetic grass surfaces to replicate the feel of real putting and chipping. Bunkers surrounding the greens will use real sand.

Fazio said the process of designing and creating unique golf courses for CITYGOLF USA has been seamless and that he looks forward to people across the United States having the opportunity to play them.

CITYGOLF USA is also building on a model that started in Asia and refining it for the U.S. market. Each location will include a restaurant and bar, private event spaces, and separate driving-range bays for corporate and social gatherings. The first location is planned for Nashville, with Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, and Minneapolis also included in future plans.
