The Chosun Ilbo spotlighted business leaders who took the lead in seeking new opportunities amid the COVID-19 crisis, introducing GOLFZON NEWDIN Group Chairman Kim Young-chan as one of its representative examples. The newspaper reported that Chairman Kim, a former Samsung Electronics executive, founded GOLFZON in 2000 at the age of 54 and created a new market in screen golf. Building on the technological capabilities accumulated over 20 years—including some 500 registered patents—the company has fully absorbed both the demand from overseas golfers returning home and the demand for contactless golf, sustaining a boom throughout the pandemic.

The Chosun Ilbo reported that GOLFZON established a new-normal model early on by integrating advanced IT with offline golf courses to deliver an online experience that feels like playing on a real course, and that securities analysts are also forecasting strong performance ahead.

The Chosun Ilbo noted that, on the strength of the R&D capabilities and technology it has accumulated over decades, GOLFZON is regarded as a representative company that turned the unprecedented crisis of COVID into an opportunity for growth.
