China Sports Daily, a sports publication affiliated with China’s General Administration of Sport, reported that the 5th GOLFZON CHINA OPEN is expanding its reach as a global tournament.

According to the outlet, broadcast partnership agreements for the tournament finals were signed in Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan, on September 9, establishing a foundation for coverage through major media outlets in both countries. China Sports Daily described the agreements as part of the tournament’s broader expansion from China into Northeast Asia and the global market.

First held in 2022, the GOLFZON CHINA OPEN has since been officially incorporated into the China Golf Association’s national competition system as a recognized tournament. This year, the tournament opened to players worldwide for the first time. With the qualifying and advancement rounds now complete, the finals are scheduled to take place in Chengdu this December.

A total of 170 players, including approximately 50 international players, will compete in the finals, which will be contested over four rounds and 72 holes in an individual stroke-play format.

The outlet also highlighted the tournament’s CITYGOLF model as one of its key features. Combining high-precision digital simulation, smart sensors, and immersive real-world technology, CITYGOLF is designed to recreate the experience of a traditional outdoor golf course within an urban indoor environment.
