The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON is accelerating its push into the Chinese market with a plan to expand its current 85 stores in China to more than 100 within this year. It noted that GOLFZON opened its first directly operated flagship store, spanning 800 pyeong of net floor area, in Beijing this past February, and that the opening drew an enthusiastic local response, with more than 10,000 customers visiting the store. The report added that GOLFZON intends to disseminate screen golf systems and culture optimized for each country under its ‘glocalization’ strategy.
The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON signed an agreement with the China Golf Association for the ‘GOLFZON China Tour’ and will host a total of four tournaments this year. It noted that the total prize money for each tournament is 1 million yuan (about 170 million won), the largest single-tournament prize money currently in China. The report added that GOLFZON also plans to host the ‘GOLFZON China Open,’ with total prize money of 1 million yuan, for general golfers nationwide this coming December.
The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON, building on its overseas subsidiaries in four countries—China, the United States, Japan, and Vietnam—has achieved 41 billion won in overseas exports over the past five years and is steadily expanding its presence in the global screen golf market.
