[The Chosun Ilbo] World Screen Golf Tournament with KRW 4.2 Billion Total Prize Pool… 18,000 Participants in Domestic Qualifiers

The Chosun Ilbo reported that GOLFZON is successfully hosting the domestic qualifiers for the ‘2026 GOLFZON China Open,’ which features a total prize pool of 20 million yuan (approximately KRW 4.25 billion). The qualifiers run online through the 31st at GOLFZON stores nationwide, and as of the 18th, the number of domestic qualifier participants had surpassed 18,000 with more than 30,000 rounds played. The total prize pool has doubled from the previous year, and the paper added that it is a global screen golf tour in which golfers from around the world participate, including from Korea and China as well as Asia, the Americas, and Europe.

The Chosun Ilbo reported that the Korean main competition scheduled for July is drawing attention, with many prominent players from the KPGA and KLPGA first-tier tours set to compete. According to the report, participants include pro Kim Hong-taek, who has won titles both on screen and on the field; Lim Jin-young, the winner of the 2026 season KLPGA opening tournament; and pro Cho A-yeon, a former youngest-ever national team member. After completing the regional main competitions, the final will be held at GOLFZON CITY GOLF in China from December 17 to 20, and the paper added that a simultaneous worldwide live broadcast is also planned.

The Chosun Ilbo reported that GOLFZON is expanding its global screen golf tour staged at CITY GOLF every year, developing screen golf into a world-class sporting event.
