The Dong-A Ilbo reported that GOLFZON had successfully concluded the ‘2025 GOLFZON China Open,’ which featured a total prize purse of 10 million yuan (approximately KRW 1.9 billion), from August 28 to 31 at GOLFZON CITY GOLF’s China Store No. 2 in Yanji, China. As the second tournament following last year’s debut at the Tianjin No. 1 store, it was assessed as having secured a new base just one year after the launch of the CITY GOLF new business and as having demonstrated the expansion potential of the GOLFZON tour, the paper reported. It added that, with the prize money doubled from the previous year, a total of 120 players took part, with China’s Zhao Zixu claiming the title and Korea’s Choi Woon-jung finishing third.

The Dong-A Ilbo reported that, alongside coverage from major Chinese media outlets such as CCTV, Xinhua News Agency, and the People’s Daily, GOLFZON drew an enthusiastic local response at this tournament, surpassing a cumulative total of 165,000 live-streaming viewers on local video platforms. It also reported that, in Korea, the CITY GOLF tournament was broadcast live for the first time through GOLFZON’s YouTube channel, with a recorded broadcast also scheduled via the SBS Golf channel.

The Dong-A Ilbo reported that GOLFZON had unveiled its vision to develop the GOLFZON tour into a new global golf tour on par with the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, by expanding CITY GOLF to Korea and various other regions and by reviewing the introduction of a qualifying system using GOLFZON simulators around the world.
