GOLFZON, a golf simulator technology company, has signed a partnership with Pinehurst Resort to bring Pinehurst’s signature courses to GOLFZON users.

Through this partnership, GOLFZON plans to install multiple TwoVision NX systems within Pinehurst Resort in the future. This will allow guests visiting the resort to experience Pinehurst’s courses on GOLFZON simulators right on site.

GOLFZON plans to use a laser scanner mounted on a drone to precisely map the lies, bunkers, fairways, and other features of each Pinehurst course. In addition, leveraging its tri-layer course mapping technology, GOLFZON will render each course in a high-resolution 3D environment, vividly recreating the terrain and playing feel of the real courses.

Sean Pyun, CEO of GOLFZON America, said that adding Pinehurst’s iconic courses to the GOLFZON course library is a highly meaningful achievement for every golfer who uses GOLFZON simulators, noting that Pinehurst, as a USGA anchor site, represents the highest standard of championship golf. He added that this partnership demonstrates both companies’ shared commitment to expanding the reach of golf, and is an extension of the golf innovation and accessibility efforts pursued together with the USGA.

Eric Kuester, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Pinehurst Resort, said that Pinehurst has always focused on delivering unforgettable golf experiences, and that innovative platforms like GOLFZON make it possible to extend those experiences beyond the resort. He also noted that, by recreating Pinehurst’s history and championship-caliber courses on GOLFZON simulators, more golfers around the world will be able to experience the unique history, challenge, and beauty that only Pinehurst offers.

Another key program of this partnership is the planned GOLFZON Road to Pinehurst tournament. This global competition will have golfers from around the world compete by virtually playing 11 Pinehurst courses. The eight finalists ultimately selected will receive full coverage of their travel expenses to visit Pinehurst, where they will compete in person to determine the final champion.

The two companies also plan to explore ways to connect Pinehurst with GOLFZON’s professional GTour going forward. This includes discussions on the possibility of including Pinehurst as a host venue for premier or major-level tournaments within the virtual competition schedule.
