GOLFZON Foundation (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 30th that it had successfully concluded the ‘2026 Golf Festival for People with Disabilities,’ held over two days on Tuesday, April 28 and Wednesday, April 29.

To promote social participation and physical fitness among people with disabilities and to broaden the base of golf for people with disabilities, GOLFZON Foundation has continuously held a screen golf tournament for people with disabilities since 2012 and a field golf tournament for people with disabilities since 2017. This year’s event held particular significance in that it expanded the scale of participation compared to the previous year, broadening opportunities for golfers with disabilities to take part.

In consideration of the diversity and fairness of the participating athletes, the tournament was organized into three divisions—△physical and brain lesion disabilities △visual impairments △intellectual disabilities—and was conducted across five detailed competition groups according to sports classification.

First, the screen golf tournament for people with disabilities was held on the 28th at GOLFZON Joymaru. The screen tournament drew a total of 73 athletes selected through recommendations from each city and province—39 in the physical and brain lesion disabilities division, 8 in the visual impairment division, and 26 in the intellectual disability division—who competed against one another.

After a heated competition, Lee Seon-wook, Lee Jeong-pyo, and Kang Dae-won in the physical and brain lesion disabilities division by classification, Park Young-hae in the visual impairment division, and Heo Do-gyeong in the intellectual disability division claimed victory.

Lee Jeong-pyo, the winner of the GS2 group in the physical and brain lesion disabilities division, said, “Just taking part in the tournament was deeply meaningful, and I am delighted to have come away with a win as well. I am grateful to the Foundation for hosting the event, and I hope to keep working diligently to show even better performances and records going forward.”

At the event that day, the GOLFZON Pastel Choir drew attention with a performance carrying a message of hope. The GOLFZON Pastel Choir is a vocational choir for people with disabilities, composed of young people with various disabilities including developmental disabilities, brain lesion disabilities, and psychiatric disabilities. Since its founding, the choir has continued to perform on a variety of stages, earning recognition for its musical capability and potential. With the GOLFZON Pastel Choir’s performance held alongside it, this tournament went beyond viewing disability as a limitation confined to a specific domain, demonstrating that people with disabilities can engage autonomously across diverse fields through sports and cultural and artistic activities, thereby adding meaning to improving public perceptions of disability.

On the 29th, the field golf tournament for people with disabilities was held at GOLFZON County Anseong H. The field tournament drew a total of 60 athletes recruited through recommendations from city and provincial branches and related organizations—42 in the physical and brain lesion disabilities division, 6 in the visual impairment division, and 12 in the intellectual disability division. As a result of the competition, Hwang Taek-won, Park Woo-sik, and Min Byeong-seop in the physical and brain lesion disabilities division by classification, Park Young-hae in the visual impairment division, and Heo Do-gyeong in the intellectual disability division took the championships.

Min Byeong-seop, the winner of the GS3 and 4 groups in the physical and brain lesion disabilities division, said, “I am happy that consistent practice led to a good result. I want to express my gratitude to my family for their support, and I will be cheering on the future achievements of the fellow participants who took part with me.”

Kim Young-chan, Chairman of GOLFZON Foundation, said, “I give a big round of applause to all the participants who demonstrated outstanding skill and concentration throughout the tournament,” adding, “GOLFZON Foundation will continue to provide more participation opportunities for golfers with disabilities and to actively support the further growth of golf for people with disabilities.”

Meanwhile, the Golf Festival for People with Disabilities was co-hosted and co-organized by GOLFZON Foundation and the Korea Disabled Golf Association, sponsored by GOLFZON and the Korea Paralympic Committee, and conducted with financial support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, and the Lottery Commission.

Through its social contribution brand ‘SWING YOUR DREAM,’ GOLFZON Group continues to provide systematic support across diverse fields—including the screen golf tournament for people with disabilities as well as golf, IT, culture, and sharing—putting into practice its management philosophy of sharing and consideration.
