Sina Sports reported that the 2025 China Indoor Golf Open and the GOLFZON China Open opening ceremony were held with great success at GOLFZON CITY GOLF in Tianjin. According to the article, key figures including Tian Xiaojun, Vice President of the China Golf Association, GOLFZON China Chairman Park Young-jo, and Chairman of the Board Park Sung-bong attended the event, and the competition—with a total prize pool of RMB 10 million—is set to become a stage for digital golf competition in which tens of thousands of golf enthusiasts will take part over a period of six months.

This year’s competition newly added three major series—a brand-affiliated event, a team competition, and an invitational event—to the existing three-stage tournament structure, and the article noted that GOLFZON CITY GOLF, the world’s first indoor 18-hole digital golf course, will be featured throughout the entire schedule. The article also reported that GOLFZON China announced it would donate additional professional golf education equipment to 20 universities nationwide in 2025, with the aim of building golf education infrastructure based on digital technology at 10 teacher-training institutions and 10 comprehensive universities.

Zhang Shouwei, President of the World Leisure Sports Association, and He Zhongkai, founder of the Peking University Golf Association, were each appointed as chief experts for digital golf education, and the report stated that this donation project would go beyond simple educational support to become a new turning point in the popularization of golf in China and the cultivation of digital sports talent.
