China Daily reported that GOLFZON’s CITY GOLF courses and the GOLFZON China Open are drawing attention as cases of digital sports innovation aligned with the Chinese State Council’s goal of growing the sports industry to a total scale of 7 trillion yuan by 2030.
The article noted that GOLFZON’s CITY GOLF courses combine digital simulators with real greens to compress an 18-hole golf course—traditionally spanning thousands of suburban acres—into a 10,000-square-meter indoor space in the heart of the city, with all-weather operation available 365 days a year. It reported that the Tianjin CITY GOLF course was selected as an outstanding example of China’s smart sports facilities in 2024, while the Yanbian CITY GOLF course, representing a total investment of 150 million yuan and covering 32,000 square meters, has established itself as a regional sports, culture, and tourism complex.
The article stated that the GOLFZON China Open has grown rapidly from a prize purse of 1.2 million yuan in 2022 to 10 million yuan in 2025 and 20 million yuan in 2026, with more than 10,000 participants from 60 cities nationwide competing in the 2025 qualifiers. It reported that the fifth edition in 2026 will expand its qualifiers to five continents worldwide, shifting to a structure in which golf enthusiasts from around the globe can compete in China.
The article reported that GOLFZON is building a complete industrial ecosystem spanning simulator manufacturing, venue operation, tournament management, education, and digital content production, and that the Yanbian CITY GOLF course is also contributing to the growth of related industries—such as construction, operations, culture and tourism, and food and beverage—and to the creation of new jobs.
