China Daily reported that the opening ceremony for the 2025 China Indoor Golf Open, doubling as the GOLFZON China Open Grand Finals, was held with great fanfare at GOLFZON Keshian (Yanbian) CITY GOLF, located in Yanji City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province.
Key figures including GOLFZON Group Chairman Kim Young-chan, GOLFZON China Chairman Park Young-jo and Board Chairman Park Sung-bong, China Golf Association Secretary-General Wei Qingpeng, and Yanbian Prefecture Sports Bureau Director Kim Kuk-beom attended and officially unveiled the tournament’s championship trophy. With a total prize purse of 10 million yuan, the tournament drew more than 10,000 players from over 50 cities across 23 provinces nationwide and saw more than 100,000 rounds played through four months of qualifying and one month of advancement rounds since opening in March, the report said.
The Grand Finals will feature a total of 120 players competing over four days, including 20 wild-card players from five countries—China, Korea, Thailand, India, and the Philippines—among them former women’s world No. 1 Taiwanese pro Yani Tseng, 2010 LPGA money list winner Choi Na-yeon, and Chinese male pro Liu Enhua, it announced.
The host venue, GOLFZON Keshian (Yanbian) CITY GOLF, spans a total floor area of 32,000㎡ with a total investment of 150 million yuan, making it the world’s largest indoor 18-hole digital golf course. Board Chairman Park Sung-bong emphasized that the tournament has opened a new era of digital golf competition in China and is becoming a platform to tell China’s story to the world, while Secretary-General Wei Qingpeng noted that GOLFZON China has made an important contribution to popularizing indoor golf and expanding the golf population, the report said.
