GOLFZON Hosts Simulator Contest for PGA Professionals

Press Release America

GOLFZON announced that, in partnership with PGA Magazine, it will host the ‘PGA Magazine Centennial Invitational Driven by GOLFZON,’ a simulator contest for PGA professionals, at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, USA, from January 23 to 25, 2019. The event will run over the three days of the world’s largest golf industry trade show.

GOLFZON, which holds the largest share of the global golf simulator market, is participating in the PGA Merchandise Show for the fifth time this year. In particular, it will set up a major booth near PGA Magazine, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, to meet visitors and industry stakeholders. GOLFZON’s ambassadors include Matt Kuchar and Kevin Na of the PGA TOUR and Alison Lee of the LPGA. Matt Kuchar won the Sony Open in Hawaii this past Sunday, marking his second PGA TOUR victory of the season, while Kevin Na joined as a GOLFZON ambassador in December 2018. Alison Lee attended a GOLFZON event at CES in Las Vegas last week.

Tommy Lim, CEO of GOLFZON America, said, “GOLFZON is delighted to celebrate the long history and achievements of PGA Magazine, and to give the respected professionals of the PGA of America the opportunity to experience GOLFZON simulators firsthand,” adding, “we believe the technological advances and programs GOLFZON provides can contribute not only to player development but also to generating additional revenue for golf clubs and various facilities.” He continued, “When PGA professionals take part in the simulator contest and experience GOLFZON technology firsthand, they will gain a deeper understanding of the value this technology offers,” and noted, “through our new partnership with David Leadbetter, PGA professionals will also be able to see how GOLFZON technology can support lessons and instruction, drawing on his extensive experience and knowledge.”

Rick Summers, CEO and Publisher of PGA Magazine, said, “PGA Magazine is pleased to partner with GOLFZON at the site of the world’s largest gathering of PGA professionals,” adding, “over the past 100 years, PGA Magazine has made it its mission to deliver golf industry news as the only publication that reaches all of the approximately 29,000 PGA professionals.” He continued, “we also place great importance on our role in introducing new products and services to PGA professionals,” and said, “the PGA Magazine Centennial Invitational, together with GOLFZON, will be an opportunity to introduce yet another technological innovation in a fun and informative way.”

The ‘PGA Magazine Centennial Invitational Driven by GOLFZON’ is an event in which select PGA professionals invited by PGA Magazine take part in a closest-to-the-pin contest on a GOLFZON simulator. The contest is held by recreating the famous par-3 7th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links, host of the 2019 U.S. Open, on a GOLFZON simulator, and each PGA professional is given two shot attempts. PGA Magazine invites PGA professionals in advance to offer them the chance to compete, and participants and daily winners will receive simulator purchase discounts and various prizes. The contest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday, January 24, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, January 25, the final day of the PGA Show. The PGA Magazine booth is located near the GOLFZON booth within the PGA Show exhibition hall.

In addition, GOLFZON will introduce David Leadbetter, the 2017 PGA of America Teacher of the Year and a world-renowned golf instructor, at a media breakfast event on January 23. The announcement of the GOLFZON · Leadbetter Golf Academy is being made as part of the new partnership between the two parties. GOLFZON acquired the Leadbetter Golf Academy in August 2018 and is focused on transforming golf instruction worldwide by combining GOLFZON’s advanced technology with the world-class golf lessons of the Leadbetter Golf Academy.

Finally, GOLFZON will also run a ‘Swing to Pop GOLFZON’ event at its booth on Wednesday and Thursday. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., booth visitors can take part in an event in which they hit a shot on the simulator to pop a large balloon on the screen, and participants will receive a free gift. Participants who successfully pop the balloon will be awarded an additional prize.
