GOLFZON Hosts KPGA Korean Tour ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open’ at GOLFZON County Seonsan for Second Consecutive Year

Photo. GOLFZON announced that it will host the KPGA Korean Tour ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open’ at GOLFZON County Seonsan from November 2 to 5 for the second consecutive year.

GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Park Kang-soo and Choi Deok-hyung) announced on the 31st that it will host the 2023 season KPGA Korean Tour ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open’ for the second consecutive year over four days, from November 2 to 5, at GOLFZON County Seonsan in Gumi, Gyeongbuk.

Newly established last year and now in its 2nd edition, the ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open’ is co-hosted by GOLFZON and Toray Advanced Materials Korea and organized by the Korea Professional Golf Tour Co., Ltd. With a total purse of KRW 700 million and a winner’s prize of KRW 140 million, it will be played on the OUT and IN courses (par 72, 7,138 yards) of GOLFZON County Seonsan in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. A total of 102 players will compete, including the tournament’s inaugural champion Park Eun-shin, and the winner will receive 1,000 Genesis Points and a 2-year exemption (2024-2025). As the season nears its end, competition for retaining a 2024 KPGA Korean Tour exemption is also expected to be intense, drawing attention to the spirited play of many golfers.

Ahead of the official competition, a pro-am will be held on October 31, and an opening official photo call will take place on the 1st of the following month. A ‘Gallery Pre-Registration Event’ has also been prepared for golf fans. Galleries who pre-register by November 1 can enter free of charge throughout the tournament period and will additionally receive a GOLFZON mobile voucher for each day they visit the venue. By accessing the pre-registration page through the QR code displayed on GOLFZON.com, the GOLFZON app, the tournament poster, and elsewhere, and registering their information, visitors can receive an all-day free admission ticket on mobile.

Meanwhile, GOLFZON Newdin Group is Korea’s leading golf group, providing total golf services such as screen golf, golf academies, and golf equipment, and has steadily contributed to expanding the base of golf in Korea. Through hosting this tournament, it plans to contribute to the growth of Korean professional golf by providing more players with the opportunity to compete.

It first formed ties with the KPGA in 2018 and 2019 through an official sponsorship agreement for the naming rights to the KPGA Korean Tour ‘Deokchun Award (Lowest Score Award).’ In addition, after participating as the title sponsor of the 2018 KPGA Korean Tour final ‘GOLFZON·DYB Education Tour Championship’ and the 2022 ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open,’ it is participating this April as the title sponsor of two tournaments in the 2023 season: the ‘GOLFZON Open in Jeju’ and this ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open.’

2023 season KPGA Korean Tour ‘GOLFZON-Toray Open’ will be held from November 2 to 5 on the OUT and IN courses of GOLFZON County Seonsan as a 72-hole stroke play event. The matches will be broadcast live on the SBS Golf2 channel, from noon for Rounds 1 to 3 and from 11 a.m. for the final round, and can also be watched on the SBS Golf official website and its YouTube channel.
