GOLFZON Newdin Group (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 27th that it had carried out the ‘GOLFZON Han River Forest Restoration On Green’ campaign on the 26th at Ichon Han River Park in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
GOLFZON Newdin Group conducted its fourth On Green campaign to reduce greenhouse gases and build a green environment in pursuit of carbon neutrality.
The On Green campaign, a company-wide ESG management activity, was joined by a total of 40 people, including GOLFZON Newdin Group executives, staff, and their families, as well as the group’s university student volunteer corps, the ‘Swing Your Dream Volunteer Corps.’ Across an area of about 2,500㎡ within Ichon Han River Park, they carried out volunteer activities such as △planting trees and flowers △removing weeds and harmful plants △applying fertilizer, lending a hand to help address the climate crisis.
Since May 2022, GOLFZON Newdin Group has planted more than 2,515 saplings to date, taking the lead in protecting the ecological environment through the reduction of carbon dioxide and fine dust, and has worked to drive positive change by providing local residents with pleasant resting spaces.
Drawing on the positive and forward-looking meaning of the golf term “putting the ball on the green,” GOLFZON Newdin Group’s On Green campaign embodies the aspiration to continuously carry out eco-friendly activities. It began in May last year with the signing of a business agreement on the Ichon Han River Park citizen-participation Han River forest creation project, together with the Seoul Future Han River Headquarters and the Seoul Green Trust.
GOLFZON Newdin Group plans to donate a total of 100 million won to the Seoul Green Trust — a non-profit foundation that expands and preserves green spaces within living areas and creates a pleasant urban environment — by 2024, and to continuously carry out volunteer activities for building a green environment.
Choi Deok-hyung, CEO of GOLFZON Newdin Group, said, “I am delighted that, through the On Green campaign carried out by the voluntary participation of our executives and staff, we can contribute to reducing carbon emissions in the city,” adding, “GOLFZON Newdin Group will continue to devote its efforts to creating a healthy urban environment and do its utmost to practice ESG management.”
