Through this agreement, GOLFZON will provide the golf platform know-how and golf AI technology it has accumulated over the past 22 years, and plans to identify new businesses by combining them with SKT’s AI technology. SK Telecom also stated through a press release that it will provide mutually integrated services with GOLFZON through this agreement. The two companies held the business agreement ceremony at GOLFZON Studio on April 26, with GOLFZON Media Business Division Executive Director Son Jang-sun, GDR Academy Infrastructure Development Office Director Kim A-seong, SK Telecom Media Partnership (concurrently Brand Band Media CO Head) Kim Hyuk, and SK Telecom Sports Marketing Group Head (concurrently Sports Team Director) Oh Kyung-sik in attendance.

In particular, the two companies will develop full-scale technology cooperation and a business partnership through the 26th KPGA ‘SK Telecom Open,’ which will be held for four days from May 18 to 21. At the tournament site, GOLFZON will combine GDR Academy’s AI coach program with SKT’s AI technology to provide an ‘AI Human One-Point Golf Lesson.’ In addition, by introducing GOLFZON’s ‘Virtual 3D Broadcasting System,’ which allows for vivid, lifelike viewing of the matches, the company plans to present special attractions to even more golf fans.

An amateur screen golf tournament will also be held through the two companies’ marketing collaboration. Following online preliminaries running for 25 days from April 20 to May 14, the screen golf finals will be held on the 21st of next month at GOLFZON Joymaru in Daejeon, where the final round of the KPGA ‘SK Telecom Open 2023’ will take place. The finals will be broadcast live on JTBC Golf and aired on a recorded basis on Screen GOLFZON, a 24-hour screen golf channel.
