GOLFZON North America Tournament Records the Western Hemisphere’s Highest Number of Virtual Rounds

STERLING, Virginia, USA — GOLFZON, the global market-share leader in golf simulators, announced that the 2021 GOLFZON North America Tournament, sponsored by Volvik, was held from March 20 to April 25, with more than 7,500 rounds played in total during the event. This year’s participation surpassed that of the 2017 GOLFZON Tournament, setting a record as the largest virtual golf tournament in the Western Hemisphere.

The success of this tournament demonstrates GOLFZON’s growth in the North American market and the rising popularity of simulator golf. Since entering the North American market in 2017, GOLFZON has seen its simulator sales increase by an average of 54% over the past 15 months. The company was also recently named “Best Premium Simulator” for the fifth consecutive year at the Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards.

The GOLFZON North America Tournament was open to any home or commercial facility equipped with GOLFZON’s Vision software. The tournament was conducted in the GOLFZON Live Festival (GLF) game mode and played on PGA National’s Champion Course. Participants were required to complete at least one 18-hole round during the tournament period and could submit as many rounds as they wished.

A total of 52 commercial facilities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico took part in this tournament. Participating golfers played an average of nine rounds during the event, with the highest individual total reaching 58 rounds. The eventual champion recorded 17-under par and received a $2,000 gift card and a custom GOLFZON blazer. In addition, 26 individual awards totaling $12,000 were also presented.
