GOLFZON Group Chairman Young-Chan Kim Inducted into Asia Pacific Golf Hall of Fame

Young-Chan Kim, founder and Chairman of GOLFZON, will be inducted into the 2018 Asia Pacific Golf Hall of Fame.

Since founding GOLFZON in 2000, Chairman Kim has rapidly grown the company within the fiercely competitive golf simulator industry and led it to become a global enterprise. In less than 20 years since its establishment, GOLFZON has firmly positioned itself as a leading company in the golf simulator industry, operating its business on a worldwide stage.

From the early days of the company, Chairman Kim has emphasized the goal of ‘making it possible for everyone to enjoy golf in a more entertaining way.’ “GOLFZON is leading the popularization of golf through its products, services, and technology,” he said. “The GOLFZON simulator created the indoor screen golf craze in Korea and became a gateway for younger generations to enjoy golf. GOLFZON stores have also established themselves as social spaces where office workers of various ages gather after work.”

According to related statistics, approximately 50 million people worldwide enjoy screen golf at least once a year, and GOLFZON has continued to achieve significant annual revenue growth since its founding in 2000. The screen golf industry as a whole is also known to have generated employment for approximately 40,000 people.

Chairman Young-Chan Kim has been named to the 2018 Asia Pacific Golf Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to the popularization of golf and the development of the industry.

At the 2018 Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS 2018), the induction ceremony will be accompanied by a variety of programs featuring leading figures from the Asian golf industry. In addition, the 2018 Asian Golf Awards—known as the ‘Oscars of the Asian golf industry’—will be held concurrently, providing an occasion to celebrate the major achievements of the Asian golf industry.
