The GOLFZON Foundation (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 10th that it will hold the ’13th Daejeon Draw, Dream Exhibition,’ where visitors can encounter works by emerging artists, from April 9 to April 22 at Art Center Q on the 6th floor of GOLFZON Joymaru in Daejeon.
Launched by the GOLFZON Foundation in 2012 and reaching its 13th edition this year, the ‘Daejeon Draw, Dream Exhibition’ is a social contribution initiative designed to spotlight talented young artists, inspire their creative ambition, and further promote the vitality of local culture and the arts. The GOLFZON Foundation sponsors the operation of the exhibition and the production of promotional materials, supporting the growth of young artists.
This exhibition features five artists (△Kim Man-seop △Kim An-seon △Ryu Jae-seong △Won Daniel △Yoon Seung-won), presenting works that explore the theme of identity through original perspectives. During the exhibition period, it is open from 10:30 to 17:30, and anyone may view it free of charge.
At the exhibition’s opening ceremony held on the 9th, some 100 guests, including GOLFZON Foundation Chairman Kim Young-chan, attended to celebrate the opening and appreciate the works. The event proceeded with a harmonious performance by ‘Hwal,’ an ensemble of string musicians from the Daejeon region, a deeply moving performance by tenor Jang Kyung-hwan, a commemorative address by GOLFZON Foundation Chairman Kim Young-chan, and an introduction of the artists and their works.
GOLFZON Foundation Chairman Kim Young-chan said, “Through its support of artists and cultural figures, the GOLFZON Foundation cheers on artists’ dreams while offering local residents the opportunity to experience new worlds of art,” adding, “We will continue to spare no effort in our ongoing support so that more people can enjoy art in their everyday lives.”
Kim Man-seop, one of the participating artists, said, “I am grateful to the Foundation for giving me the opportunity to share my cherished works with the audience,” adding, “I hope the diverse emotions and interpretations each person feels will continue to unfold.”
2010, the GOLFZON Foundation, established in that year, has continuously carried on its patronage of culture and the arts in order to enhance artists’ creative energy and contribute to broadening local residents’ experience of culture and the arts. Through diverse support programs—including the ‘Daejeon Draw, Dream Exhibition,’ the ‘Charity Golf Tournament’ to support artists, and activities to promote iron-painted buncheong ware for the inheritance and industrialization of traditional culture—the Foundation is working to spread the value of culture and the arts.
