The GOLFZON Foundation (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 11th that it will hold the 12th Daejeon ‘Drawing, Dreaming’ Exhibition at Art Center Q on the 6th floor of GOLFZON Joymaru in Daejeon from Thursday, April 10 to Wednesday, April 23.
Now in its 12th year, the Daejeon ‘Drawing, Dreaming’ Exhibition organized by the GOLFZON Foundation is a social contribution activity aimed at sponsoring exhibitions of works by promising artists to showcase their outstanding artistry and, in doing so, to revitalize local arts and culture.
This exhibition features five young artists (Lee Si-on, Lee Jeong-seong, Lim Jae-hyeon, Jang Chae-gyeong, and Choi In-young) presenting their original works. During the exhibition period, the gallery is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and anyone may view it free of charge.
At the exhibition’s opening ceremony held on the 10th, some 100 guests, including Kim Young-chan, Chairman of the GOLFZON Foundation, attended to celebrate the opening of the exhibition and to appreciate the works. The opening ceremony proceeded with an opening performance by mezzo-soprano Byun Jeong-ran, a commemorative address by GOLFZON Foundation Chairman Kim Young-chan, and an introduction of the artists and their works.
The GOLFZON Foundation selected the five artists last year through a fair review by its steering committee. In September of the same year, it held the ’15th Charity Golf Tournament for Cultural and Arts Figures’ and used the entire amount of donations raised at the event for cultural and arts figures, providing a stable environment in which they could focus on their creative work. Beyond financial support, the Foundation has continued its sponsorship through this exhibition, delivering comprehensive support for cultural and arts figures.
Kim Young-chan, Chairman of the GOLFZON Foundation, said, “The Daejeon ‘Drawing, Dreaming’ Exhibition is held on an ongoing basis with the aim of sponsoring exhibitions of artists’ works to foster vibrant cultural and arts activity,” adding, “Going forward, we will spare no effort in our support so that, through continued sponsorship, we can inspire artists’ creative drive and provide a forum for communication that shares their excellent artistic worlds.”
Meanwhile, since its establishment in 2010, the GOLFZON Foundation has actively carried out support for the underprivileged, including for cultural and arts figures, such as the Daejeon ‘Drawing, Dreaming’ Exhibition, the Culture Round with the GOLFZON Foundation, and the Charity Golf Tournament; the GOLFZON Neighborly Love Happiness Sharing, which delivers grocery kits to marginalized neighbors in the local community; the Hope and Happiness Sharing Festival, a cultural event for children from multicultural and single-parent families; and the National Disabled Golf Festival, which expands golf experience opportunities for disabled golfers. Going forward, the GOLFZON Foundation plans to practice neighborly love by pursuing a variety of sponsorship initiatives based on a management philosophy of sharing and consideration.
