GOLFZON has established a global research and development hub in Vietnam.
GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Park Kang-soo and Choi Deok-hyung) announced on the 11th that it has established a Vietnam R&D Center in Hanoi, Vietnam, with the aim of supporting its full-scale overseas business expansion and glocalization strategy.
The newly opened GOLFZON Vietnam R&D Center was established to provide active development support in line with the expansion of GOLFZON’s overseas business, and its opening ceremony was held on the 4th. Using the Vietnam R&D Center as a hub for its overseas business, GOLFZON plans, through its glocalization strategy, to gain a leading position in the overseas golf simulator market and, by the first half of this year, to complete the execution of new business projects centered on web and mobile, as well as preparations to stabilize its entry into overseas markets.
At the Vietnam R&D Center, GOLFZON plans to develop its overseas golf simulator application (Golfzon App), the GOLFZON Social application (Social App) for the sports pub concept store that is its business model for the U.S. market, and the web service for the GOLFZON WAVE portable golf shot monitor product. It is also pursuing the development of operation and reservation systems for global screen golf stores and GOLFZON Social stores that use golf simulators, as well as a league management system that provides customizing content for global tournaments. Drawing on the know-how gained from its domestic membership base of up to 4.5 million members, the company also plans to provide a customer relationship management (CRM) solution targeting overseas markets.
In particular, GOLFZON plans to actively utilize the Vietnam R&D Center as a global hub to further solidify the foundation of its overseas business, including securing personnel for the development of various flagship overseas products and strengthening R&D capabilities. It also plans to carry out golf simulator and related product development projects going forward, and as its overseas market business expands, to establish a total golf platform service linked with the global GOLFZON app.
Hong Chang-jin, Director of GOLFZON’s Vietnam R&D Center, said, “We opened this Vietnam R&D Center so that we can provide active development support in line with the full-scale overseas business expansion through our glocalization strategy this year,” and added, “As a global golf total platform company, we will do our utmost in research and development so that we can offer products and services optimized for overseas markets through the active internalization of local content.”
Meanwhile, GOLFZON has currently entered 64 countries around the world and operates approximately 900 global stores, including about 400 in Japan, about 230 in China, about 140 in the U.S., about 40 in Vietnam, and about 80 in other countries.
