GOLFZON Deca Signs MOU with Japanese Golf Course Control System Company Technocraft for Golf Course DB Cooperation
- GOLFZON Deca to provide its global database of approximately 40,000 golf courses worldwide to Technocraft
- Technocraft, Japan’s No. 1 golf cart navigation system company, to provide its on-green pin position DB to GOLFZON Deca
- Synergy expected for each company’s business and revenue growth through the partnership of both companies’ advanced golf course DB technologies

GOLFZON Deca (CEO Jeong Joo-myeong), a global specialist in golf rangefinders that has focused on golf rangefinder R&D and the worldwide golf course DB business, announced on the 19th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Technocraft (CEO Masanari Togasaka), Japan’s No. 1 golf course control system company, on the 9th for mutual cooperation on golf course DBs within the Japanese golf market.
This MOU signing ceremony took place at Technocraft’s exhibition booth at the ‘2024 JAPAN GOLF FAIR’, Japan’s largest golf exhibition, held over a total of three days from March 8 to 10, with GOLFZON Deca CEO Jeong Joo-myeong and Technocraft CEO Togasaka in attendance. Technocraft, which has developed and provided golf course-related IT services since 1995, is a company leading the digitalization of the Japanese golf market by currently offering a GPS control service reflecting course data from more than 1,200 golf courses across Japan.
GOLFZON Deca holds global golf course data for approximately 40,000 courses across 170 countries worldwide, as well as green undulation information for golf courses in Korea, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Through this agreement, by mutually exchanging GOLFZON Deca’s golf course DB and Technocraft’s pin position GPS data, the company plans to activate GOLFZON Deca’s Smart Pin service at golf courses throughout Japan going forward. ‘Smart Pin’ is a feature that automatically recognizes the pin position, which changes in real time on the field, and provides golfers with precise distance information to the actual pin on the green, allowing them to experience a service optimized for customer convenience.
GOLFZON Deca CEO Jeong Joo-myeong said, “We are pleased to have signed a business agreement with Technocraft, Japan’s leading golf course control system company, to expand GOLFZON Deca’s global golf course DB business,” adding, “Based on this business agreement, we plan to additionally secure data for various golf courses in Japan going forward and provide the Japanese market with the world’s best location-based (golf GPS) services that GOLFZON Deca possesses.”
Meanwhile, since entering overseas markets in 2008, GOLFZON Deca has been actively showcasing innovative golf rangefinders and services on the world stage based on the R&D achievements of its 21-year history. In recognition of its corporate value and contributions in leading the popularization of golf rangefinders both at home and abroad, last year it earned the honor of winning a special award at the 5th Hallyu Expo, hosted by a domestic media outlet and sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Seoul Metropolitan Council. Currently, GolfBuddy has built course map data for approximately 40,000 golf courses across more than 170 countries worldwide, making it usable at 95% of golf courses around the world.
