(Co-CEOs Park Kang-soo and Choi Deok-hyung) announced on the 17th that it has signed a domestic broadcasting rights agreement for the ‘2025 GOLFZON China Open,’ which GOLFZON China and SBS Golf will host from August 28 to 31 at the GOLFZON Cushion Yanbian CITY GOLF course.
SBS Golf is a dedicated golf channel that provides broadcasting and expert commentary for KPGA and KLPGA golf tournaments, and it has gained popularity among golf fans by consistently presenting a wide range of golf content. GOLFZON China signed this agreement in order to promote the GOLFZON China Open—a tournament whose scale rivals that of field competitions—and to deliver the enjoyment of a new golf competition utilizing the CITY GOLF platform to even more golf fans.
The broadcasting rights signing ceremony was held on the 14th at the Media Studio in GOLFZON Tower Seoul, attended by officials from both GOLFZON China and SBS Golf. Officials from both companies came together to ensure a successful tournament, and they plan to reveal the vivid scenes and excitement of the event through a recorded broadcast after the competition concludes.
The GOLFZON CHINA OPEN is a screen golf tournament that has been held since 2022 to introduce screen golf to the Chinese market and expand the local golf population. Each year, not only does the prize pool grow, but the number of participants and the interest of local golfers continue to rise as well, and last year it drew significant attention by being held at CITY GOLF, the urban golf course newly introduced by GOLFZON.
This year’s tournament, titled the ‘2025 China Indoor Golf Open & GOLFZON China Open,’ kicked off on March 1 with a total prize pool of 10 million yuan (approximately 1.9 billion KRW). Qualifying rounds, open to participants through GOLFZON simulators across China, were held from March to June; the main rounds run for one month starting July 15, and the final round will take place from August 28 to 31 at the GOLFZON Cushion Yanbian CITY GOLF course. The final round will be broadcast live through Naver Sports and the GOLFZON YouTube channel.
Park Sung-bong, Chairman of GOLFZON China, said, “It is meaningful to sign this broadcasting rights agreement with SBS Golf, a dedicated golf channel that works to advance the domestic golf tour,” adding, “We hope this tournament, held at CITY GOLF—the urban golf course newly presented by GOLFZON—will offer golfers at home and abroad an even more distinctive form of enjoyment, and we will continue to lead the advancement of the golf industry.”
