GOLFZON GDR Academy (CEO Song Jae-soon), a leader in the golf practice market, announced on the 29th that it won the top prize in the golf practice range category for the fifth consecutive year at the ‘2024 National Representative Brand Awards’ ceremony held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel on Thursday, April 25.

Earning the honor of a fifth consecutive win, ‘GOLFZON GDR Academy’ was praised at this ceremony for its outstanding competitiveness, demonstrating its distinctiveness through its directly operated ‘GDR Academy’ business in areas such as professional lesson coaches, a convenient reservation system, and comfortable facilities. A key feature of GDR Academy is that the lesson specialist coaches stationed at each location provide systematic one-on-one lesson programs tailored to each member’s individual characteristics, such as their physique and playing style. With a current membership of approximately 30,000 people, GDR Academy provides differentiated mobile app services—including easy booking of practice bays and lessons as well as swing analysis functions—based on its systematic teaching programs, earning high satisfaction from customers.

GDR (GOLFZON DRIVING RANGE), the core of GOLFZON GDR Academy’s business and widely known as the official simulator of the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), was highly rated for its product capabilities based on advanced patented technology that enables precise swing analysis and accurate spin recognition without marking balls. Some 300,000 golfers in Korea have used GDR to practice golf and experience improvement in their skills.

GOLFZON GDR Academy, which also operates the GDR sales business, continues to enjoy lasting popularity in the golf simulator market, with cumulative sales of GDR simulators reaching approximately 21,000 units to date. Building on this popularity, in the second half of 2024 it plans to launch ‘GDR MAX,’ a high-end product that uses artificial intelligence (AI) functions to analyze a golfer’s swing more deeply and to make the data easy to understand. GDR MAX is Korea’s first all-in-one golf simulator, maximizing GDR’s strengths of an intuitive and familiar UI while incorporating weight-shift and club data as well as vivid 3D graphics powered by Unreal Engine. GOLFZON GDR Academy plans to target the market for professional golfers, instructors, club fitters, and others who require in-depth shot analysis, based on GDR MAX.

Song Jae-soon, CEO of GOLFZON GDR Academy, said, “It is meaningful to us to win this prestigious award for the fifth consecutive year in recognition of our competitiveness in the golf practice range category. Going forward, through the systematic golf curriculum and new technologies presented by GDR, we will do our best to provide effective golf training to golfers ranging from beginners, to advanced players aiming to improve their skills, to professionals. In addition, we will showcase activities connected with various golf services to make golf easier and more efficient to introduce, and we will make every effort to help golf establish itself as a leading leisure and culture sport in Korea.”
