China Daily reported that, in celebration of the new year 2024, GOLFZON China has officially unveiled three major digital strategies centered on digital sports, digital facilities, and digital competitions. According to the article, the strategies were established within a policy environment in which national health, the digital economy, and sports culture have been set as China’s key development goals, and this represents a landmark declaration marking the dawn of a new era of digital golf for GOLFZON China.
The article noted that the specific means of executing the three strategies were presented as the metaverse golf trainer (digital sports), GOLFZON CITY GOLF and sports parks (digital facilities), and the GOLFZON China Indoor Open (digital competitions), respectively. It stated that the metaverse golf trainer is a portable device jointly developed with China’s MIGU, enabling people to enjoy golf anywhere regardless of location or weather, and that as of the end of 2023 GOLFZON sports parks in China numbered close to 80, covering 19 provinces and more than 50 cities when GOLFZON golf courses are included.
The report added that the GOLFZON China Indoor Open has grown rapidly since its inception in 2022, with prize money rising from 1.2 million yuan to 5 million yuan in 2024, and that, based on the characteristics of nationwide participation and nationwide connectivity, it is expected to serve as a gateway for exporting Chinese culture.
