Casa de Campo Resort & Villas Adds Iconic ‘Teeth of the Dog’ Course to GOLFZON Simulator

Press Release America

LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic — Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, a premier luxury golf resort in the Caribbean, announced that ‘Teeth of the Dog,’ the iconic course designed by Pete Dye, has been newly added as a playable course on the GOLFZON golf simulator.

GOLFZON is a global company that has led the cutting-edge golf simulator field for more than 20 years. It has been named ‘Best Golf Simulator’ at the Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards for five consecutive years, and more than 65 million rounds are played each year through GOLFZON systems at over 7,300 locations in 63 countries worldwide.

Drawing on unrivaled technology—including hydraulic moving swing plates that recreate real lies, a variety of hitting surfaces, and realistic graphics—GOLFZON delivers the Teeth of the Dog course experience to golfers around the world. Regarded as Pete Dye’s masterpiece, Teeth of the Dog is widely recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious courses and was recently ranked the ‘No. 1 Course in the Caribbean’ by LINKS Magazine.

Since opening in 1971, Teeth of the Dog has established itself as a quintessential bucket-list course that golfers long to experience at least once. Hallmarks of Pete Dye’s design can be found throughout, including railroad ties, vast waste areas, peninsula greens and teeing grounds, hand-shaped putting surfaces, and distinctive pot bunkers. In particular, the seven holes that run along the sea are renowned for their overwhelming beauty, and Pete Dye once said of the course, “I created 11 holes, and God created the other seven.”

Jason Kycek, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Casa de Campo, said, “It is a great honor to showcase our exceptional Teeth of the Dog course through GOLFZON’s state-of-the-art simulator technology,” adding, “A valuable partnership with an innovative global company like GOLFZON continues to help cement Casa de Campo’s standing as a top-tier golf resort destination.”

Tommy Lim, CEO of GOLFZON America, said, “We are delighted to partner with a world-class golf destination like Casa de Campo,” adding, “It is also a meaningful milestone for GOLFZON to have Pete Dye’s celebrated Teeth of the Dog course included in the world-class library of virtual golf courses enjoyed by GOLFZON members around the world.”

In addition to Teeth of the Dog, Casa de Campo is home to two other prestigious courses designed by Pete Dye. Added in 2002 to complement Teeth of the Dog, the 27-hole ‘Dye Fore’ comprises three nine-hole courses—Chavon, Marina, and Lakes. The Chavon course is famous for its seven holes running along 300-foot cliffs, while the Marina course stretches toward a harbor surrounded by restaurants and shops. The Lakes course is artfully designed over dynamic terrain. Among golf course design enthusiasts, Dye Fore is called ‘the most underrated course in the Caribbean.’

The third Pete Dye–designed course located within the resort is ‘The Links.’ Built on gently rolling hills, this course features tall Bahia grass framing its bunkers, undulating greens, and beautiful Caribbean views. Measuring more than approximately 7,000 yards from the back tees with a slope rating of 126, it is considered one of the more forgiving courses among Pete Dye’s designs.

Casa de Campo also operates a world-class golf learning center. Equipped with Trackman and BODITRAK technology, the facility features two indoor hitting bays offering rapid skill improvement, year-round training, individual and group lessons, golf schools, and professional club fitting and repair services. The PGA Tour–caliber facility, set on 21 acres of natural turf, also includes a practice green for short-game training and an outdoor range for full-shot practice, with on-course lessons available as well.
