GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Kang-soo) announced on the 7th that the Korean preliminaries for the global screen golf tournament ‘2026 GOLFZON China Open,’ running through May 31, are proceeding successfully, with more than 16,000 golfers participating and the number of rounds played surpassing 30,000.

The ‘2026 GOLFZON CHINA OPEN’ is a global screen golf tour open to golfers worldwide, from professionals to amateurs. The tournament’s total prize pool has been doubled from the previous year to CNY 20 million (approximately KRW 4.25 billion), with a winner’s prize of CNY 5 million (approximately KRW 1.05 billion). Golfers from across the globe—including Korea, China, Asia (excluding Korea and China), the Americas, and Europe—will participate, advancing through online and offline preliminaries and finals in each region before the grand finals are held at a CITY GOLF venue in China this December.

The Korean preliminaries have been running online since March 10 at GOLFZON stores nationwide equipped with Vision Plus, TwoVision, and TwoVision NX, divided into a general division and a professional division (holders of KPGA, KLPGA, and USGTF credentials as well as pros affiliated with GTOUR). The Korean preliminary courses, played through May 31, are China’s Mission Hills-Blackstone and Mission Hills-World Cup, with top performers selected by combining the best scores from the 2 courses in each division.

Currently, the number of Korean preliminary participants has surpassed 16,000 and the number of rounds played has exceeded 30,000, with many golfers taking part in fierce qualifying competition. A total of 300 players will earn the right to advance to the finals through these preliminaries, and the finals will be held offline at GOLFZON CITY GOLF Yanji in China across two schedules in July and August. The finals will also be divided into a general division and a professional division and played in a 2-round stroke play format, selecting 20 final qualifiers (5 from the general division and 15 from the professional division).

In particular, numerous renowned KPGA and KLPGA top-tier tour pros will compete in the Korean finals scheduled for July under recommended qualifications, raising the competitiveness of the global screen golf tour and conveying its appeal to many golfers and golf fans. Participating players include Kim Hong-taek, a golf “two-way player” with winning records on both screen and field; Lim Jin-young, winner of the Rejuran Championship, the opening event of the 2026 KLPGA season; and Cho A-yeon, a former youngest-ever national team member.

The ‘2026 GOLFZON China Open’ will proceed through the regional finals in Korea, China, and elsewhere by August, before determining the final champion at GOLFZON CITY GOLF in China over four days from December 17 to 20. In addition, to showcase to global golf fans the technological prowess of GOLFZON simulators and the appeal of a screen golf tour staged at the urban golf course CITY GOLF, a simultaneous worldwide live broadcast will be conducted through various channels.

Son Jang-soon, head of GOLFZON’s New Business Division, said, “We invite many people to take part in this global screen golf tour, held at CITY GOLF, which combines the GOLFZON system from around the world with the advantages of both screen and field golf,” adding, “We hope this tournament becomes a venue for exchange among golfers worldwide, and we will continue to work to host a variety of tournaments and revitalize golf tours based on GOLFZON’s technological capabilities.”

Meanwhile, together with its joint venture GOLFZON China, GOLFZON plans to continue multifaceted support—such as expanding the foundation of indoor golf and creating a global screen golf tour environment that golfers worldwide can enjoy together—based on CITY GOLF’s first China location in Tianjin and its second China location in Yanji.
