GOLFZON to Offer Free Lessons at the R&A Swing Zone During the 147th Open

Press Release America

GOLFZON joins forces with The R&A to operate free golf lessons using its Vision Compact simulators

CARNOUSTIE, Scotland — GOLFZON, a specialist in golf simulators, announced that it will showcase its state-of-the-art golf simulators and provide free one-point golf lessons to spectators at the 147th Open, held at Carnoustie Golf Links from July 16 to 22.

GOLFZON simulators have been installed at The Open Championship since 2015.

At this year’s event, two GOLFZON Vision Compact simulators will be set up at the R&A Swing Zone within the Spectator Village, where a team of PGA Professionals will conduct free lessons for spectators. The lessons will run from Monday, July 16, through Sunday, July 22, when the championship concludes. Located near the 1st tee, the 18th green, the 1st spectator entrance, and the media center, the Spectator Village offers a variety of food and beverage areas, a dedicated children’s play space, and large TV screens, allowing spectators to soak up the excitement of the championship.

Tommy Lim, CEO of GOLFZON America, said, “GOLFZON is always delighted to connect with fans at The Open and to introduce new possibilities for enjoying golf through our simulators,” adding, “This year’s partnership with The R&A is an opportunity to provide PGA Professional lessons and to demonstrate how GOLFZON simulators can contribute to improving players’ skills and expanding their enjoyment of the game.” He continued, “This event, along with our activities at various venues around the world, reflects GOLFZON’s commitment to making golf fun and accessible for everyone.”

The R&A organizes The Open, the original and most international of golf’s major championships. It also runs elite amateur events, international matches, and rankings, and governs the Rules of Golf and the administration of the game on behalf of more than 36 million golfers in 143 countries—excluding the United States and Mexico—with the consent of 156 amateur and professional golf organizations.

GOLFZON officially launched its Vision Compact simulator this summer. First unveiled earlier this year at the PGA Merchandise Show, the Vision Compact is a new product that delivers GOLFZON’s flagship hardware in a smaller size, at a more affordable price, and with easier installation. At the same time, it retains the full range of features of the GOLFZON simulator, which was recognized with Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards in 2017 and 2018.

GOLFZON also successfully ran its on-site program at the 146th Open held at Royal Birkdale in 2017. Befitting the world’s oldest major golf championship, that event drew record crowds, and GOLFZON operated simulators for nearest-to-the-pin and long-drive contests on site. GOLFZON ambassador Matt Kuchar recorded his best individual finish in a major championship as runner-up at that tournament, after a closely fought weekend battle with eventual champion Jordan Spieth.

GOLFZON has been showcasing its simulators at and around The Open Championship since 2015. The company first participated at The Open at the 144th Open held in St Andrews, Scotland, in 2015.
