National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) Names GOLFZON Its Official Golf Simulator Partner

Press Release America

CHARLESTON, South Carolina, USA — The National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) announced that it has named GOLFZON as the NGCOA’s “Official Golf Simulator Partner.”

Founded in South Korea in 2000, GOLFZON is a leading global golf simulator company operating more than 30,000 simulators in over 40 countries worldwide. In May 2017, GOLFZON was named “Best Simulator” in the Best Gear & Gadgets category at the Editors’ Choice Awards selected by Golf Digest, the world-renowned golf publication.

Tommy Lim, CEO of GOLFZON America, said, “We are delighted to partner with the National Golf Course Owners Association as GOLFZON introduces its simulators to more golf courses across the United States.” He added, “For GOLFZON, which recently entered the U.S. market, the NGCOA will provide the expert guidance and network we need to communicate the excellence of GOLFZON simulators and to demonstrate how simulators can become a key new business element for golfers and golf clubs.” He further noted, “Our collaboration with the NGCOA continues GOLFZON’s corporate philosophy of making golf a more enjoyable experience for everyone.”

Jay Karen, CEO of the NGCOA, said, “The goal of this partnership is to drive revenue generation by expanding golf simulator play and to deliver value to our members and to the golf industry as a whole.” He added, “We believe that simulators—and GOLFZON in particular—offer golf course owners and operators an optimal solution that combines outstanding technology, skill improvement, fun, and food-and-beverage business opportunities.” He continued, “We have high expectations for this technology and hope it grows successfully in the U.S. market.”

One of the core strategies of the NGCOA and GOLFZON partnership is to recruit showcase facilities interested in purchasing simulators. These showcase locations will serve to demonstrate revenue-generating potential for the facilities, pilot best practices in simulator operation, and provide a space where other golf industry stakeholders in the region can experience simulators firsthand.

Golf simulators can help broaden the golfer base by lowering barriers to entry and offering an alternative way to enjoy golf. Golf courses in cold-climate regions can generate simulator-based revenue even in winter through lessons, practice, leagues, and group events. Private clubs can enhance member value by adding simulators as an amenity, and resorts can offer new programs and activities for their guests.
