GOLFZON GDR Academy (CEO Song Jae-soon) announced on the 25th that, beginning September 6, it is launching ‘GDR Camp,’ an overseas on-course lesson program that lets participants experience professional on-course lessons based on GDR’s own systematic curriculum.

The newly launched ‘GDR Camp’ business from GOLFZON GDR Academy, a leader among Korea’s golf academies, is a golf lesson product that reimagines the golf training programs professional players go through during winter training, redesigned to suit amateur golfers. Drawing on data the GDR Academy has accumulated over many years, the program categorizes the mistakes golfers make most often and was refined into an even more polished curriculum through collaboration with coaching staff and experts. In particular, it is designed so that golfers can systematically learn the approach shots, bunker play, and putting that are difficult to practice in domestic driving range settings, and then immediately put them into on-course practice to lower their scores effectively.

The GDR Academy selected optimal camp locations through advance research of renowned overseas golf courses, and officially opened GDR Camp in September 2023 after a long preparation period. GDR Camp runs on a four-night, five-day schedule per session and is composed of two programs: ‘GDR 360 Lesson,’ featuring top teaching pros such as Ha Gi-won, An Ye-in, Kim Yeon-jun, and Lee Seon-jae, and ‘GDR 180 Lesson.’

‘GDR 360 Lesson’ is a program designed to comprehensively improve a golfer’s shots, analyzing the golfer’s swing from 360 degrees and correcting it step by step; it consists of swing correction, approach, bunker, and putting lessons. Golfers receive 30 minutes of coaching from a dedicated pro in each session, and a key advantage is that on the day after the lessons they can immediately apply the previous day’s training during an individual round on the course and see real results.

‘GDR 180 Lesson’ is an on-course lesson program that transforms a golfer’s game by 180 degrees through real-situation corrections during an 18-hole round accompanied by a teaching pro who has completed GDR’s curriculum. It is expected to offer golfers a chance to improve their skills and gain a meaningful experience through a round alongside a teaching pro, something they rarely get to do.

GDR Camp began with the first camp in Kagoshima, Japan, on September 6, and successfully completed its second and third camps on September 10 and 20, respectively, drawing an enthusiastic response from participating golfers. From September 27, applications open for the sixth camp, to be held in November, and the program will be held across a total of 10 sessions through December. Going forward, GDR Camp plans to offer a variety of products tailored to golfers’ training levels through partnerships with prestigious golf courses in Vietnam, Japan, and other countries.

An Woong-gi, Managing Director of GOLFZON GDR Academy, said, “GDR Camp will continue to expand the scope of golf lessons, both at home and abroad,” adding, “We will work to present a variety of programs through direct contracts with prestigious golf courses, so that golfers can enjoy golf happily through practice.”

Meanwhile, GDR Camp is run under the mottos of △systematic golf lessons △carefully selected teaching pros △full-care golf travel including meals and accommodation △consolidated participation fees with minimized out-of-pocket costs and △prestigious golf courses. Detailed information about the camp can be found through GOLFZON’s Naver and KakaoTalk channels.
