GOLFZON Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Park Kang-soo and Choi Deok-hyeong) announced on the 27th that it will host the 2025 GOLFZON China Open—a tournament with a total prize pool of KRW 1.9 billion—over four days from August 28 to 31 at the CITY GOLF China No. 2 Yanji Branch located in Yanji, China.

The ‘2025 GOLFZON China Open is a large-scale indoor golf tournament held using CITY GOLF, the urban golf course first unveiled in Tianjin, China, last year. Organized by GOLFZON China and hosted by the China Golf Association, this tournament ran for approximately six months, with qualifiers held at GOLFZON simulators across China from March to June, followed by the main rounds from July 15 to August 15.

The finals will be held from August 28 to 31 at GOLFZON Yanji CITY GOLF, the CITY GOLF China No. 2 branch. The event will be a 72-hole, four-round stroke play format, with a cut after the second round. A total of 120 players will compete, including the 100 players who advanced through the main rounds and 20 invited international professionals.

With a total prize pool of 10 million yuan (approximately KRW 1.9 billion), the winner will receive prize money of 3 million yuan, and all finalists will receive prize money on a tiered basis. The invited players include nine domestic Korean players such as Hong Jin-joo and Kim Ha-neul—who finished runner-up and third, respectively, at the first tournament held at a CITY GOLF venue last year, the ‘2024 GOLFZON China Open—as well as Ahn So-hyun, Choi Na-yeon, and Bae Kyung-eun. In addition, 11 players invited by the Asian Golf Leaders Forum (AGLF), including Yani Tseng, the China Golf Association, and FILA Golf, the official partner of this tournament, are scheduled to participate.

The tournament venue, GOLFZON CITY GOLF (CITYGOLF), is an innovative indoor golf facility that combines the advantages of screen golf and field golf based on cutting-edge digital golf technology. It features an 18-hole digital golf course that recreates an environment similar to an actual field, and its most distinctive characteristic is that tee shots and iron shots are played on the screen, while the short game around the green is played in the putting green area.

In particular, by utilizing the world’s first indoor 18-hole digital golf arena, players can deliver their best performance unaffected by weather or time of day. Because the pace of play is relatively faster than on a field, golfers’ dynamism is maximized, allowing not only the players but also spectators to enjoy an even more thrilling match.

The matches will be broadcast live on Naver Sports and the GOLFZON YouTube channel, and following the broadcasting rights agreement signed last month between GOLFZON China and SBS Golf, a recorded broadcast will be scheduled after the tournament concludes.

Hong Jin-pyo, a professional and head of GOLFZON’s CITY GOLF business division, said, “Through this tournament held at CITY GOLF, which offers the advantages of both screen and field golf, we hope that even more golfers will experience the appeal of indoor golf, and we believe it will be a stage for great matches where the participating players can fully showcase their skills,” adding, “As we are reviewing the expansion of CITY GOLF into various countries, we ask for your great anticipation of our future endeavors as well.”

GOLFZON China plans to expand the foundation of indoor golf based on the CITY GOLF China No. 1 Tianjin branch and the China No. 2 Yanji branch, and to continue providing support so that participating players and golfers can demonstrate their skills in the best possible environment.

Meanwhile, GOLFZON is solidifying its position as a global golf platform company, led by its holding company GOLFZON Holdings, together with GOLFZON County, GOLFZON Commerce, and others.
