GOLFZON Newdin Group Launches ‘Rain Gutter Cleanup Initiative’ as Part of ESG Campaign
- As part of GOLFZON Newdin Group’s ESG campaign ‘On Green,’ employee volunteers and local residents joined together to carry out a rain gutter cleanup initiative
- Putting the ‘Start of the Sea’ campaign into practice to prevent flooding caused by torrential rain and to protect the marine ecosystem

GOLFZON Newdin Group (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 12th that, on the 11th, it had carried out an activity to remove sources of pollution from rain gutter drains together with local residents in the Cheongdam-dong area of Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where GOLFZON Tower Seoul is located.
The rain gutter cleanup initiative was conducted in the spirit of GOLFZON Newdin Group’s ESG campaign ‘On Green.’ The On Green campaign is a company-wide ESG activity that GOLFZON Newdin Group carries out on a regular basis to create a pleasant urban environment for the local community. As part of this effort, the group has spent the past two years caring for the Han River forest.
This activity brought together some 30 employees from group affiliates including GOLFZON Newdin Holdings, GOLFZON, and GOLFZON CM, along with around 20 people from the Gangnam-gu Volunteer Center and local residents. Participants cleaned the areas around rain gutters to prepare for flooding during the monsoon season, attached stickers to prevent the illegal dumping of trash, and conducted community plogging activities.
The whale-shaped stickers attached to prevent illegal trash dumping were part of the ‘Start of the Sea’ campaign. The Start of the Sea campaign is an activity aimed at resolving the problem of marine microplastics that occurs when trash discarded into rain gutters flows out to sea.
Lim Dong-jin, Head of the Brand Division at GOLFZON Newdin Holdings, said, “It was an especially meaningful activity, as local community residents and GOLFZON Newdin Group employees carried out the ESG campaign together,” adding, “Going forward, we plan to develop a variety of ESG activities that can contribute to environmental improvement through active communication with the local community.”
Meanwhile, GOLFZON Newdin Group has been at the forefront of environmental protection, carrying out diverse ESG management activities across its affiliates. In October 2021, GOLFZON established an ‘ESG Committee’ with the goal of putting ESG management into practice and has been achieving its ESG management objectives. In September last year, it was honored to receive the Grand Prize and the Chairperson’s Award from the Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership at the ‘2023 K-ESG Management Awards,’ in recognition of the achievements of its ESG management activities. In addition, key affiliate GOLFZON Commerce uses eco-friendly packaging materials at all GOLFZON Market locations, while GOLFZON County is actively practicing ESG management by introducing a self-check-in service to reduce paper usage and conducting eco-friendly water purification activities using apple snails.
