Yuwon Golf Foundation Selects ‘Youth Golf Scholarship Recipients’ for 9th Year… KRW 60 Million in Total Scholarships Awarded
- A total of 20 top-ranked male and female players selected based on the Korea Golf Association’s junior reserve team rankings
- Providing a springboard for players to advance onto the global stage through scholarships covering △overseas training camp expenses △tournament entry fees △training costs

The Yuwon Golf Foundation (Chairman Kim Young-chan) announced on the 13th that, as part of its golf talent development initiative, it had selected the recipients of the ‘2025 Youth Outstanding Achievement Scholarship,’ which supports promising young golfers among elementary school golf players who set an exemplary standard for others and excel academically.
The Yuwon Golf Foundation has been running its youth golf scholarship program for nine years, aiming to provide young golfers with a stable training environment and to offer practical support as they grow into professional golf players.
The selection of the Youth Outstanding Achievement Scholarship recipients was conducted fairly and transparently based on the Korea Golf Association’s junior reserve team rankings. The 20 finalists will each receive KRW 3 million per year—covering overseas training camp expenses as well as tournament entry fees, various training costs, and equipment purchases—for a total of KRW 60 million in scholarships.
Kim Seo-ah (6th grade, Anyang Elementary School), one of the 2025 Youth Outstanding Achievement Scholarship recipients, said, “I am grateful to the Yuwon Golf Foundation for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I am delighted that my consistent practice has led to such a great chance, and I would also like to thank my parents, who have always supported me by my side. I will continue to practice diligently and become a player who seizes the opportunities that come my way.”
To date, the Yuwon Golf Foundation has selected 160 Youth Outstanding Achievement Scholarship recipients and provided a cumulative total of KRW 500 million in support. As a result of this continued sponsorship, alumni players have delivered outstanding results in various tournaments, growing into the kind of talent that will lead Korea’s golf scene. Kang Seung-gu (1st year, Namsung High School), a former Outstanding Achievement Scholarship recipient, has won the BlueOne Cup 41st Korea Junior Golf Championship, the 2nd Club D Amateur Eco Championship, and other competitions, while Lee Hyo-song (1st year, Masan Jeil Girls’ High School) won the Salonpas Cup—a major event on the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) tour—as an amateur this past May and turned professional at the age of 15.
Kim Young-chan, Chairman of the Yuwon Golf Foundation, said, “The Yuwon Golf Foundation continues to provide ongoing support for the advancement and growth of promising young golfers. It is deeply rewarding to see a growing number of cases in which our players achieve strong results in various tournaments on the strength of that support,” adding, “Going forward, the Yuwon Golf Foundation will continue its diverse sponsorship programs so that the youth players who will lead Korea’s golf scene can grow into next-generation global athletes equipped with both skill and character.”
Established in 2015, the Yuwon Golf Foundation leads the way in discovering young golf talent by operating a range of support programs, including scholarships to nurture domestic golf talent and funding for international tournament entry fees to broaden promising players’ experience in global competitions. In addition, it actively serves as a bridgehead for the development of Korea’s golf industry by continuously publishing the Golf Industry White Paper.
