GOLFZON Leaps Forward to Take Its Screen Golf Tournament Global
- U.S. GOLFZON Tour champions compete in Korea’s GTOUR, … “Confirming the potential for expansion into a global screen golf tour”
- Expanding from a domestic screen golf tour into a global golf tour, contributing to the activation of a global network united under GOLFZON
- Creating a venue for exchange among screen golf tour players from around the world at the ‘GOLFZON CHINA OPEN’ scheduled for December this year

GOLFZON, Korea’s leading screen golf company, announced that it is focusing on its leap toward a global tour by expanding the stage of its screen golf tour ‘GTOUR’ to the world—including operating a tournament that invited a champion of the U.S. GOLFZON TOUR to compete in GTOUR.
Launched in 2012, GTOUR is the flagship domestic screen golf tour model presented by GOLFZON, establishing itself as a chapter of the golf tour industry and exerting a positive influence on the growth of the golf industry. The tournaments are held separately as men’s and women’s regular events (GTOUR/WGTOUR) and a mixed event (MIXED), and with each passing year GOLFZON has gradually expanded the total prize money and number of tournaments, delivering the vivid appeal and enjoyment of screen golf.
In particular, beginning this year, in line with its growing popularity, GOLFZON is expanding the tour stage globally, placing weight on confirming the potential of a GOLFZON global tour. As a starting point, at the second round of the ‘2026 Shinhan Investment Securities GTOUR’ held on Saturday, February 7th at the GOLFZON Joymaru Stadium in Daejeon, it invited champions of the GOLFZON TOUR organized by GOLFZON America and marked the first point of exchange between the U.S. and Korean GOLFZON screen golf tours. The two players were Douglas Lawrence PIESKO and Thomas John HIRSCHFIELD, members of the GOLFZON TOUR Season 2 champion team from the event held in the U.S. last November, who participated as invited players in the Korean GTOUR tournament and competed in the environment of GOLFZON’s flagship simulator, TWOVISION NX.
Kim Chang-wan, head of GOLFZON’s Media Business Team, explained that this invitation goes beyond a simple event and is regarded as a meaningful starting point in expanding the global tour ecosystem that GOLFZON is building, marking the first attempt to expand the screen golf tours operated in each country into a single global tour stage. The plan is to build a global tour framework centered on Korea’s ‘GTOUR’, the team-based U.S. ‘GOLFZON TOUR’, and the ‘GOLFZON CHINA OPEN’ whose finals are held at CITY GOLF in China.
Son Jang-soon, head of GOLFZON’s New Business Division, said, “Inviting the U.S. GOLFZON TOUR champions to Korea’s GTOUR is the first step toward expanding cross-border exchange and strengthening the international competitive stage,” adding, “We plan to continuously review global tournaments featuring players from various countries.”
The players of ‘Tee Times,’ the U.S. GOLFZON Tour Season 2 champion team who experienced the stage of Korea’s GTOUR—the birthplace of screen golf— for the first time, said they were deeply impressed by the scale of GTOUR and the golf skills of the Korean players. Douglas Piesko, a U.S. mini-tour champion who is active as a golf teaching professional, advanced through to the final round of the second GTOUR tournament and, displaying the sharp shot-making befitting a GOLFZON Tour champion, recorded an eagle and gradually adapted, holing out at 13-under par. Piesko said, “GTOUR was very impressive in both scale and level of competition, and the Korean players’ game management ability was particularly outstanding,” adding, “It felt just like an indoor PGA Tour event, and I was able to experience the popularity of simulator golf in Korea; this experience was an important opportunity for me to grow another step as a player,” sharing his impressions of participating.
Thomas Hirschfield, the youngest member of Tee Times and a top-ranked player in a U.S. college league, also emphasized the significance of competing on an international stage. He said, “Competing in Korea was an entirely new experience, and the competitive environment of GOLFZON Joymaru as well as the passionate response of the fans were very impressive,” adding, “If tournaments like GTOUR and GOLFZON TOUR were held on a global stage, I think more golf players would have the opportunity to build new careers, and it could develop into a high-level global sport.”
Through this occasion, GOLFZON has confirmed the potential of a global screen golf tour and plans to develop it further. At the ‘GOLFZON CHINA OPEN’ scheduled to be held at CITY GOLF in China this December, it is also reviewing a plan in which players from various countries participate in the preliminaries through GOLFZON simulators around the world, with the main competition and finals held at CITY GOLF. In addition, this invitation of GOLFZON TOUR champions serves as an example showing that screen golf is developing into a single global competitive platform beyond national borders, and based on GOLFZON’s technological capabilities and tour operation experience, GOLFZON plans to continuously expand a global screen golf tour ecosystem that connects players and fans worldwide.
Meanwhile, the broadcast footage of the second GTOUR tournament in which the U.S. GOLFZON Tour Season 2 champions participated can be found on GOLFZON’s official YouTube channel.
