Q1. How closely is CITY GOLF modeled after a real golf course?

""

CITY GOLF was designed with a ‘natural playing experience’ as the top priority. Minimizing the sense of disconnect between the virtual and the real is the core design principle. The experience combines the sounds of birds and water that make you feel as if you have arrived at an actual golf course, landscaping technology that creates natural scenery such as ponds, and green-area construction technology that recreates greens and bunkers just like a real fairway.

Maintaining a constant temperature of 15–18 degrees regardless of the season, and offering an open feel that takes advantage of ceilings around 18m high and natural lighting, CITY GOLF—although an indoor space—was crafted with the greatest care to deliver the immersive sensation of playing on an outdoor course.

Q3. What do people say after actually playing?

Even professional players have remarked that “the difficulty of the greens is no joke,” a testament to how the slopes and speeds are recreated at a level comparable to a real course.

Many players were especially impressed by the way a laser marker precisely indicates the ball’s position on the field. Being able to instantly see with your own eyes exactly where on the real green the ball has come to rest makes the approach itself feel quite novel, and the reaction is that—despite being indoors—you can intuitively grasp the result of your shot just as if you were playing on a real course.

As these elements add up, the common review is that you naturally focus on your shots without being conscious of the fact that you are indoors.

Q4. What level of golf skill do you need to enjoy it?

""

Regardless of skill level, CITY GOLF is a space where you can try out a wide range of shots following the same flow as a real course. You can experience the entire process of a hole—from the tee shot to the approach and putting—just as you would in real life.

Some say the greens are difficult, but by design CITY GOLF lets you visually check the green in advance just before taking your shot. In other words, you can see for yourself how the slope runs and where the hole is, and then plan your shot strategy accordingly. Being able to check the green and hole position in real time right before a shot and adjust your strategy can sharpen the very essence of golf—judgment, choice, and execution.

The more challenging the green feels, the more fun it is to scout it out in advance and devise a plan of attack. Whether it is your first visit or you have played for years, CITY GOLF is a place where everyone becomes a fresh strategist in front of the green. It is a new experience impossible on a real golf course or in conventional simulator golf.
