[China Daily Online] GOLFZON China Kexian Urban Golf Course Breaks Ground, Opening a New Chapter for Golf and Health Sports in Yanji<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

China Daily Online reported that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Yanbian CITY GOLF project, jointly promoted by GOLFZON China and Kexian, has been held. According to the report, the project is a large-scale indoor sports facility based on digital golf technology, and it is expected to function as new sports, cultural, and tourism infrastructure for the region. In particular, it was introduced as a key project that will promote sports consumption and strengthen the city’s competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 2, the groundbreaking ceremony for the GOLFZON Kexian CITY GOLF course was held grandly in Yanji, China. The GOLFZON Kexian CITY GOLF course will be built with a total floor area of 32,000 square meters, of which the golf course facilities account for 23,000 square meters and the commercial and ancillary facilities account for 9,000 square meters. The total investment amounts to approximately 145 million yuan. Once completed, it will be operated as the world’s second GOLFZON CITY GOLF course, following the GOLFZON Tianjin CITY GOLF course, which opened as the world’s first last year. GOLFZON China explained that the groundbreaking of this project marks a new starting point symbolizing the development of Yanbian Prefecture’s digital sports industry, as well as an occasion that will set the full-scale expansion of GOLFZON CITY GOLF courses across China in motion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by key officials including Yanbian Prefecture Vice Governor Cha Jianwei, Yanji City Deputy Secretary Xu Zhichang, Yanbian Prefecture Sports Bureau Director Jin Guofan, Yanji Mayor Wu Xianzhe, Yanji City High-Tech Development Zone Party Working Committee Secretary Guo Zhengji, Yanji City CPPCC Chairman Park Lim-ho, Yanji City Deputy Mayor An Xianxue, Kexian Group Chairman Park Geol, and GOLFZON China Chairman Park Young-jo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yanji Mayor Wu Xianzhe stated, \u201cThe groundbreaking of the GOLFZON Kexian CITY GOLF course is a project of significant meaning in the development of Yanji City’s culture and tourism industry,\u201d adding, \u201cIt is highly relevant to the direction Yanji City is pursuing in fostering its culture, tourism, and consumption industries, and it will become a new urban landmark representing Yanji City going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOLFZON China Chairman Park Young-jo said, \u201cThe GOLFZON CITY GOLF course is a leading example of the convergence of new productivity and innovative technology in the digital age,\u201d adding, \u201cThe GOLFZON Kexian CITY GOLF course will serve as an important turning point in the development of Yanji City’s sports industry, as well as a new gateway for Yanji City to advance into the Asian and global markets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kexian Group Chairman Park Geol likewise stated, \u201cKexian and GOLFZON China will work together to build smart sports facilities that reflect the characteristics of the Yanbian region,\u201d adding, \u201cThey will also play a positive role in digital urban development, the promotion of sports for all, and regional economic growth.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, Yanbian Prefecture announced its \u201cAction Plan for Accelerating the Construction of a Strong Sports Region,\u201d presenting key policy directions such as the integrated operation of large, medium, and small sports facilities, the digitalization of sports for all, the fostering of the sports industry, and the expansion of sports and cultural exchange. GOLFZON China explained that the GOLFZON Kexian CITY GOLF course is a digital-based smart sports facility that aligns with these policy directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the cultural side, it is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Yanbian Prefecture’s culture, tourism, and sports industries and to serve as a platform that showcases the achievements of digital sports development to the outside world. On the economic side, it is anticipated to contribute to regional economic growth through expanded investment, stimulated consumption, sports tourism, and job creation. On the sports side, it is expected to provide citizens with new sports consumption experiences and to host national-level indoor golf tournaments, thereby positively influencing the revitalization of the region’s sports culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GOLFZON China explained that conventional golf courses have faced limitations in becoming mainstream due to their large land requirements, high construction costs, and seasonal and weather constraints. In contrast, it emphasized that CITY GOLF courses can be operated within urban centers without large tracts of land or substantial water resources, greatly reducing construction cost burdens and enabling more people to experience golf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also explained that CITY GOLF courses do not merely change the form of golf facilities but are creating new changes across the sports, leisure, and sports-for-all industries as a whole. GOLFZON China stated that CITY GOLF courses are creating a new sports consumption environment and a digital golf competition structure, while also contributing to the development of the health and leisure industry and the strengthening of urban cultural competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it added that, amid the trends of the digital age, CITY GOLF courses are becoming a new sports consumption platform in which people of various ages and occupations can participate, and that they are also expected to serve as a new industrial growth model through sports-based entrepreneurship, expanded employment, and the formation of a related industrial ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of particular note is the fact that the \u201c2025 China Indoor Golf Open and GOLFZON China Open Finals,\u201d to be held from August 28 to 31, is scheduled to take place at the GOLFZON Kexian CITY GOLF course. GOLFZON China forecast that hosting a national-level sports event would also have a positive effect on Yanji City’s tourism industry and the expansion of its recognition as a global city. It also expects that, during the tournament period, the influx of global golf fans, tourists, and business stakeholders will continue, helping to revitalize the regional economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
